That hammer is sick :lol: You shouldhave seen me going cross eyed cutting 2-4mm strips of plastic to make those runes! It's tedious, but worth it. Paint will be coming soon. The new GW store opens here in Birmingham next Saturday, & I want to show a few of these guys off. The test mini is looking great and those Cataphractii are going to look immense when theyre finished. Many thanks. I have big heart for Space Wolves and I pray to the Allfather this will be a great thread, keep up the good work! Thank you. I've loved the Wolves since 3rd edition, just never built an army before. I wasn't sure on the Cataphractii because the actual weapons/hands were seperate, but they do look nice, if I hadn't already started them, I'd possibly do a terminator list for my heresy era salamanders, that or redo my wolves.. Convertiing the Cataphractii has been easier than I thought. Bitz sellers & a Dremel tool are a must. Every time I try to hold back and not start yet another army, I see threads like this that make me reach for the wallet. Awesome job you've done so far, keep up the great work! I haven't had a full army in a decade, so this is a real treat for me. I've ebayed a lot of odds & ends I've picked up over the years to finance this one. It's a legit copy, and not a recast thank the Allfather! I have 2 Lascannon arms & 1 powerfist arm. I'm going to have all sorts of fun wolfing this guy up! It's a very nice model. Very nice indeed. Anyone have any suggestions on what's a better choice for weapons? I'm thinking an assault cannon to go with that powerfist. In game terms,miwill probably run this as a standard dread, seeing as I don't plan on playing any Heresy games in the foreseeable future... Thank you for looking. The wire squiggles are made from solder as The_Damned_Artificer taught me me how to make. I have to add some green stuff to fair in the wolf head & other bits. Two small things though: have you considered moving the wolf head up so that it hides the body and heads of the eagle? as it is now I would think the dreadnought was shipped to Fenris and then had the wolf placed on top of the eagle.. I'm thinking abut extending the pelt, but it's about balance. I don't want to add pelts just forthe sake of adding pelts. I did make a bit of a jig, using various cylindrical shapes from colored pencils to bamboo skewers. When those shapes are painted bronze, they should look awesome on the nuetral gray armor. Edge highlights in astronomicon grey. Bronze is Vallejo tin bitz, VMC bronze highlights, then high-highlights in bronze- mithril 1:1. The Yak Posted December 20, 2012 Share Posted December 20, 2012 Well I can't read Fenrisan runes but what I can do is sniff out a masterpiece in the works. This stuff is nectar mate! As soon as I saw the first few miniatures using MKIV and space wolves bits I thought "Hmmm this looks good" then the next few shots blew me away. I think your grey is lovely. Good Stuff. PS: The contemptor is a beast. It does look like a Relic of the Rout. I keep imagining a full length wolf pelt cloak on its back. Has anyone ever done a dreadnought with a cloak? Might look daft, might look amazong who knows it would probably cover the exhaust vents and stop the thing working anyway. Sorry I am rambling it looks ace anyway.
