That Venerable Dreadnought has a nice look aswell, Can't really make out all the details, but it looks great already. On a related note, I feel obliged to tell you that I personally love your colour scheme. The red you use really gives your models that extra push over the cliff. I really need to get a light box and then you will see me posting a lot more of my finished work. I only bought the Contemptor after seeing the Puppetswar arms. His regular arms look terrible IMO. These really beef him up and make him look more like a giant Terminator. I have a huge BeerHammer party this weekend so I plan on having him done tonight and tomorrow (along with the Dread that Ive been repainting). Anyways, after much thought, Ive decided to shelve my Templars. Im sure it doesnt need discussion. So theyre off my table, and Im going to try and work on either my Orks, Nids, or IW. So here is everything put back up for display, with the exception of a few things floating around my desk. Eventually Ill finish the third LRC, and my stripped Helbrecht and Sword Brethren. Ive been focused on my Orks but in the last few months since I posted in the thread Ive thrown some paint on the Templars here and there. I have a finished Chapter Master, and Honor Guard in progress, a custom Techmarine, the Centurions (disregard my last post LOL), and Ive repainted my Stormraven, Predator, Helbrecht, Chaplain, both Speeders, and Drop Pod. However the red REALLY pops in photos and its an extreme contrast to the flat black. Ive washed it a few times to dull it down. greggles Posted November 13, 2013 Share Posted November 13, 2013 If you feel the red is too poppy, try red gore over merchite, then use khorne or blazing orange as the highlight. It pulls it back some. (merchite + red gore + blazing is my default red. I have a really good deal in the works for an Ork army trade and cash, which will effectively double my Ork army and get me some cash for more table scenery and possibly a Stompa. All my games with BT since the roll have been terrible and it's not the army I fell in love with anymore, so Im really on the fence right now if I want to get rid of them. On the flipside however, every single Ork game Ive played has been a blast even when I lose. Its really about what makes me happy and if GW's decision is to essentially shelf the army then they do me no good. Yadda yadda yadda, youve heard it all before. With that being said, even if I go through with it I will still definitely be around. Also, my Successor BT/CF Codex is staying with me so I will be selling it off seperately if anybody needs it. I suggest you make sure to keep a few models you are particularly proud of/attached to (a kill team, an HQ or an EC all can work great), as a reminder of the army you fell in love with. Keep a part of the eternal crusade with you and, who knows, maybe it will rekindle your zeal one day. I hope you keep having good times in 40k.
