Eisenkern Stormtroopers

 

With a head swap and some guitar wire to make a hotshot lasgun they have possibilities as replacement Kasrkin.

They are slightly taller than the standard Cadian trooper

 

At least the body scaling looks better and not so chubby as GW.

 

I have a box of 10 on order to act as my Kasrkin - photos will follow :thumbs-up:

 

Not sure on the armour colour - may stay with the green but will try a test model in chocochip armour as the elite forces would have got the full supply of equipment even if the normal troopers did not

 

Edit: unfortunately these where a non-start due to other projects and an order cancellation.

Nice!

Just noticed the helmet on the sergeant's back. Very nice touch, that. It always seems crazy that sergeants (IG or marine) go into combat without a bucket.

Those Elysians, compared to others, look JUST like Starship Troopers (from the film series), somehow, despite the colour scheme difference. Really, really nice, though I'm not a /huge/ fan of the choc-chip camo. Sorry for the bump.

@franzdietrich - no problem, some like camo some don't. The world would be a terrible place if we where all the same

The next project for my IG will be a magnetised Baneblade kit in desert cam. Starting soon and to be completed in the spring

 

It will be something along these lines but with my own version of magnet madness included

I'd love to do that sometime myself...but it won't be for at least a year, I'd say.

Not chocochip but in wide sand/green stripes similar to the one in the FW painting guide.  Just green would not fit to the figures and I am using chocochip for material so it is sort of in-between. ;)

Great work, brother elmo. That commissar is almost too good. :) now dont you try and count that as 5 different superheavies for the Currus Bellum painting challenge. Its still just 1 super- upgradable tank. :) jk. Cant wait to see it painted up in its different configurations.

I had no idea it had been so long since I did anything to my IG but I have cracked and ordered the Codex, Hydra/Wyvern and the Cadian Armoured fist for my Chocochip troops.

 

Also, in the background there is a Baneblade, some Ebay rescued Cadians and about 25 Mantic Elysian Drop Troops so I will be back soon ;)

 

I just hope I can remember how to paint the Chocochips

Interesting camo, not one I've seen before. It really does look pretty cool on the fabric materials for these guys!

 

Eagerly awaiting your take on the Leman Russ. It was the first model I bought for my army, personally. Can't get enough of that mashed-together tribute to every pre-Cold War tank ever.

I just wandered into my local GW with some gift vouchers I had been given earlier in the year with the idea of buying some snap together Cadians to fill out my squads and imagine my joy when I found there was a bits sale going on...

 

After a bit of digging I came away with these at €1/100 grams (I paid €5.30 for a big bag of bits but these are the IG specific bits).

The plan is to use the hot shot lasguns and assorted scion bits on Cadian bodies with the beret heads to make my own Kasrkin.

I think I have enough bits for 2 5 man squads

 

Just need to paint them now....

 

Edit - Forgot to mention that I also treated myself to a new Commissar. I will be using the Admiral Olga Kurganova model from Ragingheroes

She is not Heroic scale and looks a little off compared to the cadians but she fits in well with my Mantic "Elysians"

On the Commissar, yes it is a little risky (I have seen far worse fantasy models) but is it any more risky than Sisters?
