elmo
It was a pencil outline backfilled with shadow grey and highlighted by adding white to the mix. I am planning on having the model completed by the end of next week at the latest but I have been known to overestimate ;) WarriorFish 1 Back to top
WarriorFish
I'm sure you have other things that are taking up your time, there's loads of time left to complete too ;) Kilo has shot past the gate for the first completion, so you'll have to settle for first flyer I'm afraid! elmo 1 Back to top
elmo
Started on the detailing today and here is the nose art "Aces High" along with a medical hatch http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2014/238/d/5/valkyrie_nose_art____aces_high__by_elmo9141-d7wrnfj.jpg Dr_Ruminahui, hendrik, CoffeeGrunt and 3 others 6 Back to top
WarriorFish
Great free hand, I'm still building up to trying something on my Vendetta  Maybe I'll take the easy way out and get some transfers printed... elmo 1 Back to top
Kierdale
I'm all outta likes! Excellent work Elmo, particularly the medical supplies hatch. That's stolen. elmo and walter h 2 Back to top

elmo
I have been concentrating on the door gunners tonight along with some lens work on the Valkyrie. Tomorrow I plan to paint up the missiles and rocket pods which I had magnetised when I first built the model but never got around to painting :( http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2014/239/f/9/wip___valkyrie_door_gunners_by_elmo9141-d7wwmr7.jpg walter h, Kierdale, WarriorFish and 1 other 4 Back to top
Nicodemus Doloroso
Wow you did those playing cards free hand? That's outrageous! Great work!
Kierdale
I notice you decided to use different heads for the door gunners. Just for uniformity or so you have something special planned for those heads?
elmo
Thanks guys. :) Yup, the cards where free hand but I just noticed a mistake. When I fit the lascannon, it hides most of the work. The multi laser is not so bad. Hey hum.. As far as I can remember (but it was a while ago so I could be wrong), the heads are from the valkryie kit, I have just cut the aquilla off and painted them to look like they have camouflaged covers. WarriorFish
The ones in the Valkyrie kit are special heads, with a more pilot look and large visors: These guys look like the HWT head. Not that it matters, they look fantastic!
Jolemai
These days, I have only one thought whenever I check this thread... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZO6giM9UAv0 CyderPirate, walter h and elmo 3 Back to top

Not a very clear picture, sorry.. I could be wrong as at my age, memory is one of the first things to go :( Edited August 28, 2014 by Elmo9141

elmo
I did not manage to do any painting last night so I will definitely have to finish it off next weekend. Decals, a little more detailing then weathering to do... Here is a collage of better quality images http://th05.deviantart.net/fs71/PRE/f/2014/241/c/3/wip___valkyrie_by_elmo9141-d7x50b9.jpg Edit: I now have a Hammer of Cadia box set in my sweaty hands Edited September 9, 2014 by Elmo9141 Kierdale, walter h, WarriorFish and 2 others 5 Back to top
WarriorFish
Fine work as usual Elmo, and next week is still plenty early - the WIP deadline won't even have passed! Are you going to do a bit more on the wings? I feel the block blue needs a little something, perhaps as simple as a small white border for example?
elmo
I was thinking of some cracking of the shadow grey using black squiggly lines and then weathering but the border idea sounds interesting too but maybe in black as I don't want it to stand out too much or it will ruin the whole point of the camouflage ;) WarriorFish 1 Back to top

elmo
#812 "Aces High" Tail number 812 is officially known by the name "Justus Extremis" but has been given the unofficial nick-name of "Aces High" by Crew Chief Donald. Donald has always considered himself a good gambler, he would say that he gambles every time he takes to the skies of Eridanus Tertiary. What with the blowing dust clogging the turbines and the suicidal ork planes which are just as likely to ram you as to shoot at you you have to be lucky to stay alive. '812 has never, in her long history, let her crew down. Even in the worst days of the battle of Cepheus Harbour where she had limped back to base with gaping holes in the wings but had refused to fail, safely bringing her crew home. This has earned her the affection of all, not just her crew but other members of the squadron too. The Squadron Commander turned a blind eye to Donalds nose art and even Commissar Blenheim has said nothing knowing that morale is worth more than a small amount of unofficial graffiti. http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/P9050001_zpsd75ca937.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/P9050002_zpsa599d2ae.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/P9050003_zpsd7cf8294.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/P9050004_zpsdfb9a6cd.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/P9050005_zps9dfaa2be.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/P9050006_zps37d26bcc.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/P9050007_zps5eef15b4.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/P9050008_zpsa7c564fe.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/P9050009_zps6e5423b4.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/P9050010_zps2aa18db3.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/P9050012_zps9066cbc4.jpg http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/P9050014_zps1932f0d6.jpg Edited September 5, 2014 by Elmo9141 WarriorFish, DobbyKroket, Kierdale and 5 others 8 Back to top
