Campaign questions.

I have been asked to write the fluff for a campaign me and a couple of friends are doing and I am in sort of a conundrum as I am supposed to write about Space Wolves and how they look at other famous and/or infamous organisations.

The setting is that a forge world is under attack by an unknown enemy (Necrons) and the Mechanicum has asked for help to solve the problem. 5 Chapters, including the wolves, have answered the call and so has the guard, two regiments so far.

So we are 8 loyalist, and two Necron players who might be supported by other guards who are mind controlled by a Necron lord, still in decision. The battles will be fought in cities or inside factories. This campaign will be played over most of 2013 and the others have vowed to enlarge their armies during the year so we can play an apocalyptic battle at the end of the year.

So here are the questions,

Have anyone seen any information how the relationship is between Space wolves and the Mechanicum?

We are going to have two diy chapters, what are the reasons why a chapter wouldn't be considered battle brothers with the space wolves? Over zealous and to close to the imperial cult is some ways I understand. Have anyone seen any information about the relationship between Space wolves and the Raptors? They might be close as the Raptors are a second founding Raven guard chapter.

We want some drama between the chapters and the guard so we can write some fluff that is not straight forward.

If you have some ideas of how I can expand the the fluff and the campaign. You can also ask questions and criticise as much as you want. :)

while the bloodangel codex makes us battle brothers I'm sure after the incident we had with the flesh tearers it would be more suited to use flesh tearers as desperate allies. Reasons not to be battle brothers with another chapter would include:

-butchery of imperial citizens

-reasons not to thrust them, such as minion chapters of the inquisition

The relationship with the mechanicum is pretty much the same as with any other chapter that has it's own armoury i think. the fang is able to provide the space wolves with weaponry and armour, and possibly vehicles.

Well as the raptors and the space wolves both fought in the Third War for Armageddon there should be at least respect of each other as The Space Wolves fielded 5 Great Companies and the raptors fielded Five Companies from there Chapter so there would at least be the respect for them as brothers in arms. but the raptors are remound jungel fighters and worked closely with

Armageddon Ork Hunters and the Catachan Jungle Fighters. so they did not work closey with the wolves.

This campaign has turned into something extremely insane. All 12 players had a meeting during the weekend with most of the books, laptops, ideas and beer, it was supposed to be 10 players from, but two of the players brought their gf/wifes who now after seeing all the planning want to join in. We have been fleshing out some home grown rules for the mechanicum, will not bother the brother wolves with them.

After we had divided the teams, decided who should be the main battle leaders (I am the warlord over the Marines faction), and general rules, we sat down and started to flesh out the social interaction between the chapters. The wolves are now only trusted battle brothers with the Raptors, the Raven guard chapter got a bit miffed when they did not get to be the ones who would lead the battle force so they are considered Allies of Convenience, as are all the other chapters, this is due some fun discussions we had, the Iron Templars have close ties with the Ordo Hereticus, and the Dark Vipers have fought with the Wolves earlier and had seen some of the wolves loose control over the curse, so now they really don't trust us, but they are fine with the wolves as leaders. I got to be leader because I have been playing 40k the longest, I really did not think we would be the best choice for it, but I was the only one who had fought the necrons earlier, but that was before the last codex, so I have no idea what they have up their sleeves.

The second Imperial faction is considered Allies of Convenience, as long as it comes to the three IG forces who have joined. Then we have the Mechanicum which is considered Desperate allies (Cog boys are more into capturing and experimenting on the Necrons than destroying them). The last one came as a surprise to me, stupid stupid Ordo Xenos radical Inquisitor with death watch attachment (Codex Space Marine, with a small GK allies attachment, we fiddled a bit with the rules so she can now have an Inqy with henchmen without taking any ordinary GK troops, she will only have SM scouts, those pesky elite Marines with special ammo and a couple of vehicles.) I as Space Wolf will not on any circumstances join up with her, except on the rare occasions we play Apoc. There are some rumours that the Inqy has connections with those pointy ears too.

All this social stuff might change over the campaign.

What do you think?
