Thanks for the information. The Triarii sound interesting. Sort of fits history without fitting it, since roman triarii were (I believe) the older, better-armored legionnaires of the Roman Republic who were rarely in the first waves of battles.

"The best defense is a good offense." By the way, I still want to know where that came from.

Anyway, I think the XII Legion has that down in spades. They do have an armor regiment after all.

I meant the (presumably) upcoming khornate units. Though they might not eschew defense until they're completely insane.

So, is there another Rapier model coming? One that might be able to stand in for a Thunderfire Cannon? Because I'd really like that.

The quad launcher variant is the only one left, I'm really interested about how that will look.

I'm all for the increasing of axe sizes. It might be safe to assume that the later Heresy WE models will sport such monstrosities. One can dream. And while it doesn't come true, I charge you with converting that axe. Then you can charge me with drawing it.

Awesome! Mostly because of another conversion I had in mind (not for the Rapier/Thunderfire itself).

Totally your fault if it doesn't happen and I end up disappointed, by the way.

I'm guessing it'll happen though, since they're a choice from the HH book, right?

Just take the axe from the khorne lord of skulls and just glue it to a marine.

It might look like he's compensating for something, but hey, nothing like a 15ft chainaxe to the face says hey im a crazy choppy dude whos going to cut down everyone you know like a farmer scything wheat...

Make it double(headed). :) On a more immediate note, is the Gal Vorbak confirmed? They made their debut at Isstvan V, after all, book 2 should reflect that.

If not as a unit, then as a color scheme. The First Heretic has them wearing red and black armor and I believe everyone remembers the red and black Word Bearers from the Weekender.

@Kol: Oh, right, I remember finding that scheme strange on a normal, non-eldritch nightmare Marine.

@Jasp: I think any kind of walker power claw can be an Ursas grappler. Chains+claws on the tip, maybe a few cogs or other mechanism on the forearm to represent the retention and retrieval systems. Vents, etc.

I could live with that.

Yeah, and since all the other choices for the Rapier entry have been released I'd expect them to come out before Book 2 or just after.

If anyone could weasel the design spec off of a besieged, split loyalty Martian world, and stealthily get out of the Sol System, it would be an Alpha Legion I-Team.

Not every mission needs to involve hidden bodies, blackened blades and suppressed bolt. Some may be oriented towards doing the opposite.
