Calnus Posted February 28, 2013 Share Posted February 28, 2013 So, building a mad-scientist type model and converting up a Dreadknight chassis as something between an AdMech Knight and a Gundam, and I'm having trouble figuring out how to make it where I can play them as allies to my main army. I'm thinking an Inquisitor, probably Ordo Xenos with a serious radical leaning, some henchmen? Or robot-counts-as-GK perhaps? Just really looking for an HQ and a troop choice to go with the models, and some appropriate gear. So since I'm doing this off a combo of modeling oppurtunity and fluff, here's my backstory: There's a semi-loyal human scientist, either Mechanicus or Inquisition, who has built himself a power base of small mercenary forces, akin to a Rogue Trader's peronal guards. He experiments with Xenos tech, primarily Tau and Necrons (He's not a psyker personally, so he's not able to do a lot with Eldar tech), and has built an exoskeleton to keep him safe while he runs off to get more/loot tomb worlds. Dangerous business and all that, you understand the need for heavy armor, right? Knowing that, what kind of options make sense to be taken, and what forces? Calnus Posted March 1, 2013 Author Share Posted March 1, 2013 GK can take a techmarine HQ? I was used to them as elites (and crappy ones too) out of my BA codex. That actually may fit really well... Can Jokaero join other units like ICs, or like a Royal Court/Wolf Guard deal? Because having them as psuedo-servitors would be funny :) Or are they part of a troop choice? I've still got to fill that mandatory 1-1 if I want to use them as allies. Obviously I've got Heavy set, so anything I can build to use on top of that as part of another army would be awesome. Gentlemanloser Posted March 1, 2013 Share Posted March 1, 2013 No, techmarines aren't HQs for GK. And Jokers are a unit option. Either take no FoC, or are Troops if you use Coteaz.
