In other news, after painting so much blue in one day, I've decided to start the LotD Sergeant, he still needs highlights, details and touch ups, but he's at least painted to TT standard.

Done a little work on what is now a Deathwatch marine for the Command Squad, the guys on the Ultramarines sub-forum were really helpful in helping me decide what chapter to do him, and I've decided to do him as a part of the Scythes of the Emperor chapter. He's not finished, but you can get the idea of how he'll turn out.

Hey guys, sorry for the long silence, I had an accident with a craft knife and I'm recovering from hand surgery. I'm just managing to get back to painting right now, so progress is slow, but I've decided to vow in for ETL II anyway. The vow is 5 assault marines, 5 devastators, 1 Chaplain with jump pack, 1 stormtalon and 1 venerable dreadnought. Here's what I've managed these past few days:

2 members of the assault squad are done (8th squad, 3rd company) and the other 3 members are about 40% finished. Now, I still can't paint to a brilliant standard, and my skills are still lacking my usual ability too, so the highlights are a wee bit strong in places, but I'm happy with what I've managed at the minute. All C&C appreciated guys, just go easy on me, I severed everything in my thumb, so I'm painting 1 handed for the most part.

Glad to hear it man, the 3rd seem to be quite popular lately.

The Chaplain and marine are part of the ETL vow, so they take priority, they'll have plenty done today. I've also resculpted Cassius' helmet, making it look more helmet like. As if that wasn't enough, to make the old boy really stand out as the boss of this jumpy whipper snapper, I've given him a cloak! It still needs to be sculpted for the most part, then painting and then a suitably nice looking decoration needs choosing for the back of it, but I can take my time with that.
