Giant Chaos Spawn Alternative / Conversion

Brothers and Sisters of the B&C,

I have a question pertaining to the use of Giant Chaos spawn in a WK40k tourney/ friendly game setting and what types of models could be used as an alternative to FW Giant Spawn. The shop and TO's of the tourneys do not allow FW models but FW rules for 40k are allowed. Since it is possible to have such a wee beastie in an army would it be worth the points and elite slot to have one?
