Sons of Ursolon - A Question for YOU!

So, here's what I have for you so far.

- Sometime M30, early in Great Crusade.

- Battalion II, Chapter IV, Legion VI (name unknown) (roughly 500 Legionaries comprising 5 companies of Tactical and Heavy Support Squads)

- Before finding Russ (and before need for Accelerated Gene Culturing which caused the flaws)

- Battalion Fleet trapped in system (you name it) by a warp storm (I've found warp storms lasting 1 week, 4M, all the way up to perm); or,

- Alternately, Battalion made a short warp jump that should have taken a few days ... ending up reaching it's destination several M later (I've found that that can happen too).

- Around 500 Legionaries now ... can become a chapter.

- Has Russ' geneseed ... but are not Space Wolves.

Definitely a solid foundation... but werebears... but mk II armour... no matter how I slice it I get my Kilts haha. Now I find I kind of want some of the genetic flaws! Argh! Too many good ideas that conflict! Let me mull things over and I'll get back to you.

Has Russ' geneseed ... but are not Space Wolves

I think it will be very difficult to come up with a cogent reason that a pre-Second Founding group of Space Wolves would ever trade their Space Wolf Legion identity for something new.  If anything, I would think the isolation would make them cling to it all the more.

I would like to reiterate the Octavulg's question: What is the point?

Had this discussion on the Wolves Forum ... before finding Russ and Fenris, the Legion was most likely just called the 6th Legion.

NightrawenII ... the point is the same as it is for any other DIY Chapter, to created a unique chapter that someone can call their own.

But their originality lies in rather wacky origins, which, all things considered, doesn't make a Chapter unique or interesting

The uniqueness of gene-seed in context of all gene-lines is arguable.

Saidly (and after working all night) I have no idea what you just said.

Ravenfeld, how is this project coming along?

Its been put on hold unfortunately, life has taken me on a side trip. I had a discussion with the misses and she feels that if I were to collect another army I should probably try something a little less loyalist and I have to agree really, if only to mix up the play style a little bit. So, while I still intend to tackle this down the road (because I want my damn heresy-era space scott bears) it won't be forthcoming. I definitely liked what we had ironed out, and I threw a lot of it into word docs on my home comp for review down the line.

Thanks for all your help with it, i'll let you know when I'm ready to get back in the saddle.
