Grotsmasha's Conversion Challenge 1: Chaplains Completions

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks. Here's my entry. A fairly standard kitbash with a finecast backpack topper from the Black Templar chapter master guy and the helmet from Seraphicus.

Head is magnetised, so he can wear the helmet or have it clipped to his belt, where I prefer it.

I give you Chaplain Aleran of the Gatekeepers Chapter, proud bearers of Dorn's geneline.

Hope you guys like the work. Its not to the best standard, and I'm not sure why the photos are all different sizes, but I had to rush to get it posted before the end of the contest.

He's supposed to be kneeling in contemplation before going off to smack some xenos around the place.

-EDITED- managed to get all the pics the same size. Much better.

Alright guys, according to the World Clock I'm a maximum of 19hrs ahead of anyone else in the world, so that means I'll wrap this thing up @ 7pm AEST, or 11.5hrs from this post. Good luck to anyone racing the deadline.

Cheers,

Jono

I am actually gonna call myself done! I had considered doing one for each of my "four armies, but the Army lists I am working from with the first 1,000 pts each only the Star Phantoms and Lamenters.

I do have most of the other four chaplains done, but I'll never use them for months. but I do need a libby for my sons Brazen Claws (hint hint, grot!)

great job everyone, and where the heck is that rune priest on the thunderwolf? it had me excited.

It has been an honour to partake. Bringing a design, one that only existed in my head, to fruition in a relatively (for me) short space of time has been very enlightening.

Unfortunately, my Chaplain will not be seeing paint for a little time yet, as there is a squad of Tartaros Terminators that are getting that attention first.

He is simply know as "the chaplain"

There we go, recon's post from the other thread, and we're closed.

NO MORE ENTRIES

Update to follow promptly....

First off, thank you everyone for participating and making this Challenge as successful as it has been!!!

If everyone could check the first post of each thread to check I've included every body correctly, if  I've overlooked either your Participation or Completion, please post here or hit me with a P.M.

So how did we all do?

We had a total of 48 Participants, 32 of which completed the Challenge, with 6 members completing an additional Chaplain or Dark Apostle for a total of 38 completions. That's 66%, an excellent completion rate.

So, being that there is a verifiable plethora of excellent kit-bashes for me to sort through, it's probably going to take a week or two for me to make decision on my favourite, having said that, I will commit to a decision by the 19th of May.

Realising that True/Art/whatever scale is not everyone's bag (baby), I'll offer either of my entries to whomever I chose to have kit-bashed my favourite from the challenge.

Here they are for a reminder,

Although the Chaplains Challenge has finished, we shall return for:

Grotsmasha's Kit-Bash Challenge: Librarians

in June, so gets to your bitz ordering. Timing will be the same, 1st June til 2nd July. I don't see any reason to change the rules, so there won't be any surprises there.

Cheers, and thankyou veryone again for making this event so successful,

Jono

Agreed! I have two more GK TDA bodies that would make great libbies or sorcs. Is there going to be anything about painting? I feel like there should be a thread where we can see all these guys painted.

that's just greedy!msn-wink.gif

Let me take this opportunity to thank Grotsmasha for this fun event! We've seen some fantastic conversions here and I think all participants should be proud of themselves!

This was fun and I look fwd for the Libby contest! Maybe I ll manage to participate on this one.

Bravo Jono, bravo everybody! :)

I think you should take part Capt. Semper, do your Consecrators need a new libby? wink.png

Yes, Thanks Grotsmasha, it was fun, I had 2 days off work and I spent them making my chappy lol.
Count me in for the Librarian challenge also and I promise, no GK parts for me!

I'm sure some ideas on here might help me out on that one too smile.png

Amusingly enough I had mine complete since the first week of the challenge, just not based.  I, unfortunately, changed my army from regular Codex to SW Codex and now he doesn't suit as the SW Chaplain is also the apothecary so I lost my battle with procrastination and didn't take photos of him.  Oh well, at least I know I finished him, a moral victory at least...

Feel free to throw up some pics anyway guys, I'm sure others, myself included, would love to see them.  As for a thread for painted models, as soon as I've mine painted I'll open a HoH thread and P.M. everyone with a Completion to give them the linky.

Cheers,

Jono
