2 full battle companies: 2nd and 8th WIP

I pretty much own all the models for two companies the only problem has been quite a lot of it hasn't been fully painted. So I set myself the goal of finishing everything seeing as it's all be sat in boxes for 3 years :S

Anyway rather than post up half painted or base coated models I thought I would only post finished squads. As of right now the 60 tactical marines are finished (different weapon options are available but left out of the pics). The devastator squad heavy weapons and sergeants are done but their bolter carry squad mates aren't so not posting them yet.

The 2nd company is obviously a standard battle company while the 8th will be the assault company made up of bikes and assault marines.

My apologies for the shoddy camera phone quality of the pics... p.s. just noticed the 'U' on one knee pad needs finishing off! damn it tongue.png

Oh and another aside: they're really meant to be just table top quality, I know they could be much much better but I just really cant face spending too much time on hundreds of space marines haha!

You mean to tell me that you have 60 finished marines, of such individualised quality, and you didn't bother to take but two group shots????

Lets see some squad shots, action poses and such! With 60 marines you at least gota show us 15 pictures

Haha you know what you're quite right. I'll take more shots tomorrow, though a big problem is the stupid camera in the phone; too close and the image is ridiculously blurry but I'll do my best.

Anyway, yeah about the symbols that's exactly what I was going for, the idea that each suit is individual to the wearer with its own unique history, honour roll etc. (Except for squad V - they're Black Reach models and kinda all in the same pose haha!)

They look good :tu: As others have said, the individuality of each Astartes is quite unique in an army, but you've definitely gotten the hang of it. Looking forward to seeing more :)

Ok, spent ages trying to get the camera to focus and it really wasn't playing ball but did the best I could, sorry if some/all are blurry :(. Added in more individual images and also the two finished heavy weapon sections of the devastator squads.

p.s. Sadly, yes they are all named too ;)

Although they are all tabletop quality, each of them has it's own individuality, and that's an achievement by itself, when it comes to collecting almost identical armored dudes. Great job, you've done really well. The only nagging from me is visible mold lines on some of them. They really spoil the looks.

Oh, btw, It's very original to cover the rim with sand, never seen that before. Like they standing on sand piles. Cool.

Yeah I know what you mean about the mold lines I try and remove them these days, just was lazy back when I put these together haha

Oh and sadly that sgts. sword snapped and keeps warping back to being crooked, really annoying :(

Its funny I only noticed the missed purity seal after i looked at the photo again, I'll get on it :)

Haven't tried it on painted models myself, but I've done it with warped resin -- go to your kitchen and make yourself a cup of tea, then pour some hot water in another cup and put warped sword in hot water for about 10-15 sec. then straighten it gently.

Does this method work the same if you make a cup of coffee instead?

Nice Ultramarines, like others have said the individual chapter motifs enhance the look of the combined force. What's next bro?

Originally I did the hot water trick and it did straighten out but oddly enough over time its reverted back to being wonky. Before I added detail I tried it again but for some reason it just wont take. Plus when the model is painted it gets a lot more tricky to do.

Next on the block is the command squad I reckon.

Oh and yeah mold lines everywhere I know :( I'll endeavour to remove them from now on, sorry guys it does ruin the effect doesn't it...

Right off the bat I'd just like to point out that after these photos were taken the mold line down the front of the leg on the kneeling veteran was so stark I dealt with it immediately and filed it off. ;)
