BL needs to get back on the right track with HH. Discuss?

My only gripe with Black Library lately has been the amount of "normal" 40k and fantasy books they've been putting out lately has decreased it seems in favor of more HH and Time of Legends novels. It's great to hear about where all our little plastic men come from but not at the expense of "current" events.

Hope that made some sense.

Of course, the term "plastic little men" always makes sense, even though my co-workers might not always think so... :D

If that's the case though, then Abaddon is outranked by an unknown chapter master, etc and so on and doesn't make sense when you think of the role of 1st Captain. Sigismund is 2nd in command of the Imperial Fists but has a battalion commander and chapter master over him?

There is information about the Legions that needs to be explored in depth that BL authors can't do without slowing their stories, this information needs to be covered by FW, and it can't be done vaguely or generally, but precisely explained out in full.

For instance in Betrayal it says a Sons of Horus company could be any size, led by a Captain. That is so ambiguous its silly. The only Legion you could use the chart thy provide to organize is the Ultramarines, leaving 17 other Legions flapping in the wind.

Horus wiped all the chapters and left only the companies and squads, because it fit his war style (Betrayal). I guess the Imperial FIsts did the same.

Now that we're talking about BL and the HH...I've just entered the site and found that Know No Fear has a hardback edition already (announced today). Does anyone know why they make the HB edition of that novel before the hardback edition of: Descent of Angels, Legion, Battle for the Abyss, Mechanicum, Fallen Angels, A Thousand Sons, Nemesis, The First Heretic, Prospero Burns, The Outcast Dead, Deliverance Lost and Fear To Tread?? I know that Angel Exterminatus and Betrayer get the HB because were new novels, then they started with Horus Rising, False Gods and Galaxy in Flames, next Flight of the Eisenstein and Fulgrim, so why KNF now?? Is there an order of publishing or is a random thing?

The real question is why are they (BL) even doing a hardback edition? It is quite possible that someone thinks that someone else will pay an obscene amount of money for an $8 400+ page story, those people are probably in the minority.

Now I am not going to besmirch the writers if they are sharing in the additional profit, but i doubt it. Really the newest and last over-sized HH Paperbacks $16 US its a joke.

There's an HH paperpack for $16 US?

But in reality, there will be people who buy it. Whether it be for the pictures or because they're paperbacks are well-thumbed through and need replacing so they decide to go to a longer lasting hard back.

And as someone who has one of each(not of the same book) just because I don't have the patience to wait forever and a half for the mass-market paperback, the hard cover is putting up with my abusive over use far better than my paperback books. They look exactly like they did the day I bought them and I know they've been through a bit. So if(well more of a when at this point for some of them) I rebuy the HH series to replace the damaged books, I will be going to Hard back editions.
