elfatto
It's been a while since I last made a post, but I've finally finished an Angron I was painting for a friend. Rather than going with the 'default' Istvaan III theme I decided to base this one around the HH novel 'Betrayer' (which was awesome BTW). Captain Semper
Sooo, is this a study on NMM? It does look awesome! Also like your directional light and the fact that you went for UM adverseries - it's a different take. And interestingly enough it's the first Angron I'm seeing with no red paint on the face. Well done mate! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274458-finished-angron/#findComment-3355050 Share on other sites
Dosjetka
While I quite like the whole diorama, I'd love to know how you painted the Ultramarine armour: it's the perfect tone for Ultramarines in my mind :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274458-finished-angron/#findComment-3355073 Share on other sites
elfatto
Thanks for the comments guys. "Study in NMM" would be a bit too serious and academic. This was more me messing around with some ideas for colour combinations I had. The friend that I was painting this for didn't want the red paint on his face, so I went with that. For the ultramarines, I did a basecoat of the old GW regal blue over black primer. Hilights were done by working up to altdorf blue, and then altdorf blue with a bit of bone white for the edges. Shading was done by adding a bit of P3 umbral umber to regal blue, with the darkest areas done with pure umbral umber. DarKnight
Excellent work brother, especially loved the touch of the armor's collar glowing. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/274458-finished-angron/#findComment-3356876 Share on other sites
