Mogsam Posted April 28, 2013 Share Posted April 28, 2013 Good day all, I've recently agreed to go to a doubles tournament in late June and the requirement is that it is 1000 points each. Unfortunately the rules state that I cannot play my usual guard army due to my ally using the same force, so instead I have decided to paint and produce a 1000 point marine army! Originally I had painted a Word Bearer pre-heresy scheme (Hence all the Mark IV armour) however it suffered from unimpressiveness in that grey on grey looked very unimpressive. As a result it has been kicked and replaced with a new chapter, one of my own design.... Every unit will deep strike in drop pods or teleport in. The current list I am looking at is this: Blood Angels Codex (Required to be able to get Terminators + Dread. Due to the rules of the tournament I cannot use 2 Elites with no Heavies or Fast, Blood Angels however can have Dreads as Heavies.) HQCaptain - 100 - May use the Apothecary model for the captain. He's lovely and it could be a quirk in the chapter.Elite - Tartoros Terminator Squad - 200 Troops -9 Marines - 154- Drop Pod 359 Marines - 154- Drop Pod 35Heavy -Dreadnought - Dual Autocannons -120 - Drop Pod 35 It leaves me with 167 points left for equipment. A Contemptor with all of his yellow blocked in and mostly highlighted and a drop pod that is finished on yellow and just needs black highlighting/silver work. I'll try to get a 3rd drop pod from my LGS tomorrow and I'm considering an apothecary conversion for the general still. Since I work for one the worlds biggest printing companies I can make my own very high quality waterslides without much effort so I'm going down that route. I must admit, when I first saw them the MM's did spring to mind, but when those transfers go on, there'll be no doubt that they aren't.
