The wolf's head on the Heavy Bolter has not quite come out as well as I hoped but I think a little green stuff should fix it.

Loving these dudes.  I think what I might have tried with the bolter muzzle would be don't split the wolfhead, but drill out the mouth and stick a bit of brass tubing in it, the head might not be big enough to achieve the same muzzle size though.

So I was out of the hobby for a while now, at least a year but some of my friends have worn me down and convinced me to come back  so TITH I picked up the Orks codex, 2 boxes of boyz, Snikrot and a runtherd and Gretchin box to slowly start an Ork force. That’s it no other armies just Orks.

Welcome back.  Orks are my favorite 'bad guy' faction, they're just so fun.  Half of that is that the Ork players themselves are usually pretty good sports about everything.

Cheers mate. I was sorting out my cupboard today and I found a Jiffy bag with 30 kommandos in it. 5 have been built and primed and the others are all on sprue so I got a few options by the looks of it.

Today (really yesterday) in the hobby I...

 

Picked out my first Primaris models to start bringing my Sanguine Gargoyles chapter into the current age of 40k, at least on the tabletop. 

 

Yesterday was my birthday, and my wife let me pick my own present, basically, so I asked if I could try finding some models. The FLGS in town had a couple boxes I could use (and plan to utilize later down the line for conversions on more specialized units/models), but nothing except a box of Intercessors for "rank and file" models. We drive to Helena for dinner, and I looked up a FLGS in town, and I was rewarded for my patience. They had tons of boxes (including 4 boxes of the now OoP Death Company Intercessors!), and I was having trouble making up my mind.

 

I probably should have gone for either the Space Marines or Blood Angels Combat Patrols they had, but I had to go with my heart. So I picked up Lemartes, a box of Jump Pack intercessors, and a Blood Angels Upgrades box. That's right, I'm starting my Primaris army off with Lemartes and his Death Company (or my Sanguine Gargoyles' versions of them, anyways)!

Went to the FLGS and bought a Heresy Leman Russ Strike Tank as a Christmas gift for my dad. He really enjoyed the model airplanes I got him for Christmas last year, he does have a little bit of modelling experience in the past, and he's been quite interested in the Warhammer I've painted. I hope that this can challenge him, introduce him to the setting a little bit, and something we can talk about. 

 

While I was there, I pre-ordered the Death Korps kill team. A prelude to when I buy the upcoming Krieg box. The best part is? The Canadian "tax holiday" applies to GW models. Oh dear, I see a whole bunch of saving money by spending $500 in my future.

Got a little tired of painting all Deathwing all the time so I changed gears temporarily and converted a gravis Pedro Kantor off Tor Garadon, a recast Voldus, and the old Kantor.  Now I just have to decide if I want to add the back banner.  I don’t really like them but with Dark Angels I just have a Watcher carry them.  Not sure Kantor would be complete without it.

TITH my flat mate got me a Eldar wave serpent for Christmas. He knows bugger all about the hobby and just picked it up cos I got him a gift. Now do I convert it for ork purposes or start an eldar army too is the question?

Today in the hobby I packed 50% on my minis in preparation of future move. New year will start with a full relocation in feb: new job, new country (back home in fact), and new spot in the middle of a hobby desert.

18 kpts of SW and (too) many vehicles needs a lot of storage space! I just hope these models on mine are well locked in place and that I will not have too much reglueing at opening.

 

But first big task is traveling there and getting a spot to live. And storage for hobby stuff. This will be tough.

Today in the hobby, I discovered that LI scaled drop pods are just as much of a nause to paint as the full size ones.

 

Love the models (in both scales), but it turns out I hate painting drop pods in all sizes

Today in the hobby I.... Got a list together of Black Templars I am planning on buying.

TITH I re-started a longtime hobby blog. It is Great Crusade-era Epic and charts an expedition of the World Eaters and their exploits towards the end of the Crusade.

We had previously finished the campaign to conquer 'Badruk's Place', culminating in a massive 20k point game of Marines Vs Orks on 12ft of tabletop.

Next up, 30k-era Craftworld Aeldari who have become embroiled with the World Eaters and are next on the chopping block!

 

A bit of narrative for now but have been in a painting frenzy over the holidays so will have some minis to post soon:

Interesting that they made a primaris with a helmet like that - haven’t seen one of those before.

I swapped the helmet out from a 30k Grey Hunter and painted it in 40k colours.
