TITHI Successfully hid the paints, Completely failed to redo the drop pod in death watch colours but I did manage to do all five bikers weapon swaps, I went with two chain swords, two power swords and a power axe in the end (after I'd started out with a pair of power fists and a thunder hammer I reread the unit entry and had to rip them off :blush.:  lol) and I also made a biker librarian for my smurfs just because i had a spare raven wing robed rider and a bike left over

Next I'm planning on repairing the damaged paintwork on the bikers caused by my decidedly untender weapon removal methods:biggrin.:

TITH I won my second game this week. Was a fun one. 1500 points of Ultramarines versus Ultramarines. I had Tigurius leading elements of the 1st and 2nd companies whilst my opponent had Marneus Calgar leading elements of the 1st and 4th. Glorious victory 10 points to 3 called at the end of turn 3 with only Calgar, a drop pod and an immobilised LR Crusader remaining whilst Tigurius still commanded 2 tactical units, a squad of scout snipers and a razorback.

I do love a fully mechanised marine army sometimes.

TITH I tried out my homemade wet palette on my Ecclesiarchical Militarum Tempestus (say that three times fast). Holy God Emperor of Mankind! I mixed only a small amount of paint and the palette kept it wet until after I was finished. This must be some kind of magic. I will further test this artifact out until I can deduce its true purpose.

Today in the hobby I bought and read the first 5 volumes of the Beast Arises.

Two things are awesome in those books. Well, there's a lot of awesome stuff, mostly to do with the Fists and their Successors IMHO (though I'm biased, obviously), but two things that I hadn't seen mentioned stood out at first glance (warning: these aren't really spoilers, they aren't plot points of the books, they're two different characters (sort of,) but I've spoilered them anyway so if someone hasn't read the series and wants to go in completely blind they can:)

  • The Iron Knights. I won't deny it: these guys are my favorite Successor chapter (except for maybe the Black Templar) in all of 40k, even though before they had all of one story about them in the entire canon, and that had barely any information on them then. Their entrance into the series blew me away (and there's a good chance they're a 2nd/3rd Founding Chapter now, which is interesting.)
  • Dreadnought-Marshal Magneric of the Black Templars. Dreadnought-Marshal Magneric of the Black Templars. Yeah. Let that sink in for a second. A Black Templar Marshal interred in a Dreadnought. That's just... awesome. Really.

All in all, I'm enjoying the series. I thought after I read I am Slaughter my favorite part would be the Terran politicking, but the rest of the stuff is slowly growing on me. The politicking is still good, but it's not my favorite part.

TITHI succumbed to temptation and placed an order for a Kill-team, Codex Deathwatch, the re-released Deathwatch graphic novel, and Deathwatch Ignition. Obsession? Whatever do you mean? :huh.:

Placed an order for Traitor's Hate as well. I want to see what loveliness is in there for my Infernal Carnival.

Yesterday in the hobby, I took part in a Kill Team event at my local GW. I won two games (Sisters who would have thought that there would be TWO Sisters armies! :laugh.: and Tau), lost two games (Dark Angels which was only one point in it as my Seraphim were one inch too far from an objective to draw at turn five [no further turns after dice roll] and Chaos Raptors using Khornate Daemon Kin Codex). I was also a very close second for the best painted Kill Team (so close that the difference was that none of my models were converted...a bit difficult considering my Kill Team was Sisters :laugh.: ), but still I had quite a number of positive comments about them, especially the Rhino and its freehand painted upper door mural :smile.:

It also means that I played more games in one day than I have in six months! :blink.:

Current w/l/d is 4/2/0!

Remembered another game result...

Yesterday in the hobby I purchased an OOP Sisters Banner Bearer new in box for just $10.80! I'm quite pleased.

Once again the Emperor provides for his faithful! :biggrin.:

That's a deal there for sure! :happy.: I've been keeping away from ebay lately...must not go take a look! :pinch:

I must admit there's already another lot I'm eyeing! :tongue.:

and the banner bearer wasn't even an auction!

Today in the hobby, I have changed my mind once again and have chosen the Ultramarines as my second legion instead of Salamanders.:blink.:  Due to that I have a slight start on them already from BaC and have found myself actually liking them quite a bit in the 30k setting...Which shocks me, as I never once thought I'd become a fan of this Legion.

I also have a third Legion lined up now, waiting in the wings(and their respective FW Book)...Truly, the Heresy train has no brakes, indeed.:laugh.:

TITH I looked at the Rhino top hatch with the FW Tactical :Troops: decal on it and covered it with the fifth coat of Micro-Sol to get the decal to melt around the bolts on the hatch.  I may give up after this round and just deal with it.  Next hatch though, I'm cutting off the bolts.  Seriously.
