TiTHI finished my Culexus Assassin. Technically I managed to finish it yesterday but I've been tweaking the base a tiny bit today.

I haven't managed to get a photo I am happy with but I did successfully capture a video of the model.

You should be able to turn the video up to 1080p to get a better view. It decided to play it back in 720p the first time I tried so you might need to look into that.

Does anyone here know of any good video editing software? I don't really know anything about that sort of thing but removing the yellowish tone produced by my lights would be great.

So I'm a few days behind, but Friday I order $162USD worth of Shattered Ritual bases from Secret Weapon Minis for a Slaanesh Daemons army and bought a box of Daemonettes (currently only the unit command is built for test painting purposes). Today I'm working on doing some painting and getting my paint scheme nailed down.

And in exciting news (for me) my FLGS is starting a twitch channel and as part of that is doing a sort of escalation league for 40k, and I've been invited on for that, so my Slaaneshi daemons will be my project.

EDIT:

My first test daemonette (and some thoights how it turned out):

Having finished it I think I will be making some final adjustments to the final scheme. I'm looking at using some Fulgrim Pink as one final highlight on the hair, push the edge highlightd on the cloth more purple with Genestealter purple and make all the jewelry gold while keeping the metal bits of the corsets silver.

Well that and I need to thin my Slaanesh Grey further as it's a bit chalky and not as smooth as I'd like.

Also those eyes bother me as they're little more than black dots so I need to add a white dot to each without just covering the black completely.

TITHI Volunteered to do a intro to the hobby at the local toy shop in exchange for some old kits the owner has out back (no idea what they might be), But getting folks into the hobby is always good, Going to be using the contents of the first strike box (3 reivers, 3 intercessors vs 3 plague marines and 6 pox walkers) and some of my terrain collection on a 2' x 2' gw city board

Any suggestions for scenarios, set ups, or making some unit cards etc will be gratefully stolen and used

TITH I did build... no Poxwalkers! Instead I started on some buildings made from the old modular Imperial terrain (Manufactorum, Sanctum Imperialis and Basilica Administratum). While I think the new terrain looks a lot better, the older kits had much more variety and customisation options. And they were much cheaper. :whistling:

Today in the hobby, I got 4 new brushes from Blick Art Supply.  I got a pair of W&N Series 7 Miniature (sizes 1 and 2) and a pair of Rahael 8408's - basically the counterpart to the W&N's - in sizes 0 and 2 (size 1 was out of stock).  I was using 8404's before and they are good, but the 8408's have a sharper point and still a big belly for keeping paint moist.  I wasn't pleased with my previous S7 Minis, but that's because they were too small for the intended purpose.  Thankfully someone advised me that I just needed bigger ones.

I have a feeling that the Size 2 8408 is going to be my new favorite brush.

TITH I painted a sixth imperial fist intercessor for my fourth ten man intercessor squad. I find I need a little break between yellow models and I only just finished painting shadowspear so I'm quite pleased to be keeping the pace up on this squad.

Nice work Gederas!

Nice work Gederas!

Thanks!

And now at 12AM in the Morning in the Hobby, I finished assembling my Darkshroud and Talonmaster, leaving the former in several sub-assemblies (as in: 10) and the latter in 3 for ease of painting.

Which is good, because I have a game using both of those tomorrow :laugh.:

So madness definitely lies this way: I'm workibg on blending purple and pink to try and create the impression that the cloth changes color as it ripples.

I think I have a rough table top standard here:

But on closer inspection my blend needs more work:

Why try to blend two entirely different colors? All to try and capture that riot of color and spectacle Slaanesh is supposed to have while also creating something that looks like it's not just striped cloth.
