looking for a way to spice up my deathwatch

Recommended Posts

I have built a counts as deathwing army that are all painted as deathwatch terminators. Ive got the diffrent chapter symboles on the sholder pads and have some bits from the space wolves and blood angles that I put on but Im lacking definition and color.

It might be that black is just hard to make pop (highlighting isnt my thing, never quite got a hold of it) Its just im looking for a way to bring a little bit more color to the army. Banners or power weapons maby? Because right now its s sea of black, silver and some gold. Ideas?

Not sure if this the kind of thing you're after, but on a Google hunt for anything to do with my main Chapter, I came across this topic on a B+C members Death Watch army. He's painted the right shoulder guard of each Marine in the colours of the Marines' original Chapter. I love it, as it gives each one character, but is unified by the Death Watch's black armour happy.png

I saw the thread yesterday haha. His terminators look great! I have gone with the colors from the chapters on the sholder guards to begin with. I think it might be that im looking for a color that brings some life to the army. Maby some blue in power weapons or something to keep it looking like mass flat black terminators with a little color. I was kind of thinking maby trying out some banners or weapon mods that chapters are known for.

Google is always a friend, no matter where you are it will be there for you.

In the link that was mentioned each marine has little doo-dads and trinkets that show their chapter as well. not to mention that pieces of cloth, pouches, and weapons are similarly colored.

But if this is not the route you are going for, add silver (i.e. the left pauldrons) and white details like in the link (laurels on the helmets, ect.)

The Salamander Marine is a very good example of this happy.png
