A Scythe of the Emperor. I wanted him to be one of the last survivors at Miral hence lots of battle damage and more than one cut. Yellow was an absolute nightmare to get a smooth finish and consistent shade with. My only tip is loads of really thin coats but any mistake is a swine to touch up. C+C welcome, much love

I wasn't happy with my basing of my Scythe so I 'liberated' a rock from someone's garden to re-pose him on. Fluff wise he is meant to be on a rocky outcrop called the Giant's Coffin on Miral, selling his life dearly against the unstoppable horde of tyranids. What do you think? I might be tempted to source a bigger rock and do a last stand type of diorama if the money fairy comes to visit me one night. Much love x

This bloke was originally painted as a Crimson Fist, but I re-sprayed him black and turned him into a Raven Guard. Only problem I had was that some of the armour wasn't as smooth as I would have liked but overall very happy with it. Much love x

Finished my first attempt at a Ravenguard veteran today. He is clean and undamaged as I figured they would just drop in, kick arse and then be home on the flagship for tea and cake so no time to get battle damaged. Let me know what you think. Much love

YES, this is one nice paint-job! I like your gritty style, and especially the Carrion Lords, and the subtle, but very important, highlights you've added to them. It just makes them that more appealing when viewed from a distance, and really helps to pick out details.

Double header today, first up a Raven Guard trooper. I'm enjoying painting this scheme as it is the same as the original Dark Angel scheme from Rogue Trader which is what my grubby little hands tried to paint as a yoof :)

And a Flesh Tearer I am thinking about adding to my diorama (so please ignore the base). I am trying to capture a pose as if he is succumbing to the black rage and is throwing his head back and roaring like the Predator did to Arnie at the end of that film. What do you guys think?

I have been working on an IA for my Carrion Lords (which is lurking somewhere in the Liber Astartes section) and so I have knocked up the final final, not changing anything again, this is it version of what my Carrion Lords will look like. I have tried to create an urban battle damage look to them. Enjoy, much love.

Everything here looks Sweeet.

I really love the Flesh Tearers you have done - Gorey and Dirty, Great Job!! Really liking the poses you have put them in, each one tells a story.

As for the capes, I can understand why you wouldn't have them - especially in a FT army - but I think they can sometimes look impressive and are for purely aesthetic value. Sometimes I picture a Space Marine Captain's cape whirling and confusing the enemy as he gracefully slices and dices his way through their ranks, much like an epic anime character of sorts. And at other times, I picture a Space Marine Captain striding into battle bolter blazing, power sword held high, tripping on his cape and accidentally stabbing/shooting himself. It really is up to your own interpretation and feel of the mini. Same goes with the bare heads, I always want them to at least have a helmet nearby or attached. But it does add to the epicness of a mini - why would DC wear helmets? :)

I look forward to seeing more of your work!

I just stole it from the GW website paint range, Mechanicum standard grey, then I wash all the grey with Nuln oil. At this point I go back over the grey with many layers of very watered down mechanicum standard grey building up the grey so that it gets lighter on the more prominent parts of the armour. Then I edge highlight everything with dawnstone and then highlight the most extreme edges with administratum grey. As a meerkat once said, simples!

@battle8rother: the casualties are proving to be a stumbling block as I don't want to buy a box of imperial guard just to chop them up, but an extensive internet search for suitable minis is underway

@Mike Mee: Not likely, getting the yellow to all look the same is a complete nightmare! Anyone who has the balls to own an Imperial Fists army has my total respect. However never say never, but if I do I think 1 a year would be my limit.

Thank you everyone for all your kind comments, they really do spur me on.

Much love xx

Loving your work man, especially that Imperial Fist, he is exceptional. I have a bitz related question for you - the legs on this Raven Guard marine, which kit do they come from? They're awesome!

What have I got for you today? How does another Raven Guard marine sound. Not enough you say? Okay well there is also a Raptor who was salvaged from the dreaded bitz box and I also took some 19th Legion re-union shots with the Raven Guard, their second founding brothers the Raptors and their distant cousins of the 26th founding the Carrion Lords. Anyway enough waffle here are some pictures.
