The
Angels of Eternity

The Angels of
Eternity were founded in early M33 in the aftermath of the 3rd Black Crusade with the aim of first stabilizing, and then defending the resource rich Callipsus Belt, which is situated to the North West of the Eye of Terror. As the founding of a successor of Sanguinius was
rare, both the Blood Angels and the Angels Sanguine pledged substantial support cadres, as well as the mixed company that was to
be the only battleworthy formation for almost eight decades. To support the fledgling chapters armoury, the Blood Angels sent with
their contingent three landraiders; which were heartily accepted by Captain Deadus, the chapter's overseer. Deadus was also supplied by the Adeptus Mechanicus with no less than forty suits of Terminator Armour, the Techno-magi no doubt hoping to ease into good relations
with the new chapter. They even offered several tech priest 'advisers' to be permanently attached to the chapter, and even though Deadus' first instinct was to reject the offer he would later reluctantly accept them into the support element of his chapter. They
are, however, eyed with suspicion as to the real goal of their assignment and are as such never allowed near any of the valuable and
prized Baal Predators

Three months after the handing over of the gene-seed to Deadus and his retinue, the mission arrived on the planet of Hope, situated in the Callipsus Belt, to begin the founding of the Angels of Eternity. In the aftermath of the battle of Ugmal ridge, Hope was re-named Deadus' Hope after his death by Chapter Master Tritus.

Homeworld

The world of Deadus' Hope is one locked in a perpetual struggle for survival. Compared to the rest of the Callipsus Belt, it is a
worthless planet. The old mines dug into the freezing mountains of the northern continent have long been devoid of ore, and the old
collapsing tunnels are inhabited by Frostback creepers. The lowlands of the southern continent produce barely enough substance with a good
harvest to support the life that can actually live on such meager food supplies.
Deadus' hope can be reliable split into two seperate catagories; the northern continent that is a rocky mass of mountains and gorges inhabited by several groups of humans, and the southern continent that is inhabited by a many more small groups uncountable in number, for it changes every day.

The people of the north are isolationalists in the extreme, but they will vigorously oppose any threat they percieve endangers their families. These people inhabit the mountain range, known by the people of Deadus' Hope as Caesaris ira”. It used to be full of valuable ores and minerals, but these have long since been extinguished, but their skills in smithing remain.
It is home to many dangerous animals, including Frostback creepers, Gorge spiders, Daedric Bats, but the list is stupendously long. But all these pale into insignificance when compared to the dreaded Sabre Hawk. It's wingspan almost equals that of a Stormraven, and it's claws can rip open Admantium. It lives only on the highest peaks of the Ceasaris ira and is a solitary animal, coming together only to mate. They only reach mature age at around three decades, but can live for centuries. It is said that when the training cable led by Deadus first arrived in
the mountinous regions of Hope, the elder of the Dultus Tribe challenged Deadus to show himself worthy of the northern regions. The elder challenged Deadus to hunt down and kill one of the Sabre Hawks and bring back one of it's claws as proof of the deed.
Deadus eagerly accepted the challenge, and withing a week returned to the settlement with the proof of the deed. It has now become ritual for the aspiring Chapter Master to re-live this deed to show his strengh.

The people of the south are, unlike those of the north, nomads who live, sleep and eat in their shanty convoys. The vehicles that make up these convoys come from a variety of sources, but those from the northern regions are the most prized as both well made and long lasting. The southerners often offer the northerners livestock and food that often accompany their tribe's convoy.; in return for the high quality weapons and the vehicles they value so much. The vehicles that make up the convoys are diverse, but they are generally small, maneuverable craft, maybe with two floors for those more fortunate. The craft the southerners inhabit are generally wheeled, though tracked vehicles do exist they are rare because of the slower speed at which they travel. Rarer still are flying craft, that are known to be used by the Felixis Tribe, who are the most technologically advanced tribe in the South. At the center of the ten largest and oldest tribes; however; are marvels that date back to the time when Deadus' Hope was full of ores and gems. These vehicles, called the Mother ship, have several floors, are outfitted with spacious living quarters the Jarl and his family live in, have several advanced weapons systems that are never understood nor replaceable which are
powered by three turquoise gems unique to Deadus' Hope each. Each convoy will normally be followed by a procession of livestock,
normally the Zakrus Yak, a creature about twice the size of a cow on ancient Terra. They are valued by each tribe, and one of the few ways to measure a man's power on Deadus' Hope is to count his livestock. Because their livestock require constant provision in a barren land,
the tribes are constantly on the move to find new forage for their animals. While they enjoy the thrill of driving at breakneck speed with their land craft, any true Deadusian will tell you that the true joy of life is cruising through the sky towards the heavens, leaving
the ground behind.

Recruitment

The time of Angels comes once every twenty years, and natives from all over Deadus' Hope travel to the grounds of testing;
a holy and ancient place; to prove their worth. The recruitment process is split up into three tests; the warrior test that tries a
candidates skill with the blade, the marksman test challenges his skill with the variety of ranged weapons used by the natives and
finally the Test of Faith that wears a hopeful's every belief, truth and thought. In the first two challenges, two candidates will be
drawn at random to face each other, and will be watched by the Master of Recruits, Master of Sancity, Chief Librarian and Brother Aldrane,
a furioso dreadnaught dating back to the founding of the Angels of Eternity. The contest will be closely monitered and judged by the
recruitment party, who record every minute detail of those they deem promising. The Test of Faith is done alone and in isolation, with the
candidate accompanied only by the recruitment party. This is the challenge they most closely monitor, however, for while skills of war
can be taught, a lack of faith cannot.

Generally, about a hundred candidates are accepted from the many thousands that travel from both regions; a journey in itself
a challenge of mental and physical fortitude and claimes. The tests also help indicate to the Angels of Eternity which of the candidates
will excell at what; those who dominate in the Warrior test will be marked out for further development with the company champions; while
those with an unshakable and unserpassed faith in the Emperor will invariably be inducted into the reclusiarch. The time of Angels is
always watched over by members of the Librarium, to ensure that any psychic potential is spotted immediately and put through more rigorous tests should they proceed, and detainment of they do not. Those lucky enough to be accepted into the Angels of Eternity will be led back to the waiting transport ships to begin their new lives as
the Angels of Death.

Organization

The Angels of Eternity are organized similarly to their gene-fathers, the Blood Angels. They do, however, have a much smaller
death company which is attributed to the fact that they; like the Blood Drinkers; incorporate many rituals aimed at sating their
blood lust without the preying eyes of the Imperium. Their Librarium is much larger than many other, less psychic chapters. This is
thought to be because of their close proximity to the Eye of Terror, causing the population to become more psychically aware than others.
After this, the organization of the Angels of Eternity follows all of
the scriptures laid down by Guillman. The assignment of marines to their squads and companies, however, is a practice that is fraught
with problems and complications. Because the Northerners are isolationists, they react reluctantly to outsiders being assigned
to their units. This, combined with a rivalry formed by the southerners at what they perceive as high handedness often leads to
ritual duels because of fallout's in the companies and individual squads. This is mindset is normally destroyed in the tenth company,
when recruits are taught that all followers of the Emperor arebrothers, but some forms of it inevitably survive.

This is all i have at the moment, but i will have more in the next few days on the Fortress Monestry etc. Comments are welcome. Thanks,

Musket
