So, some time ago (knocking on 18 months now I think) I played against a Sanguinary Guard army and really liked the look of the play-style that they required. All or nothing pretty much!

I then realised just how cheap and easy it was to buy that army, 5 boxes and a couple of choice bits and it's all done.

The army are definitely a speed paint by my normal standards, I tend to paint at a glacial pace but these guys I reckon I managed to do from start to finish with no more than 48 man hours which for me is incredible and all of it is down to using an airbrush.

Anyway, I'll stop boring you all with the back story and put up some pictures now:

The army as it stands is incomplete and is only 1460 pts, with the addition of some melta bombs and suchlike it can be brought up to 1500 but the local tournament scene is now 1850 so expect to see the sanguinor and maybe another sanguinary priest arrive one day!

Great models mate, and only 48 man hours? Wow! I wish I could paint that quickly!

Gotta ask though, the name.....I assume it was intentional because of the Sanguinary Guard's umm, nipply nature? Or are you just following the mainstream media's line and sexing up your title to get people to click? ;)

Given they were originally called the nipplewing... No, it's nothing to do with Batman either :P

If you plonked this army down in front of me and said it took you 48 hours to paint I'd laugh as I'd assume you were telling a joke! Very nice models, I got some of the Sanguinary Guard models for my honour guard and this has inspired me to finish them off as soon as my ETL vow is done :D
