A Flesh Tearers Strikeforce WIP

Hey guys, I decided to start an armylog to get some feedback on my newly started army, and also to motivate me to splash some paint on them.

This is all very WIP still.

Here is my Gabriel Seth. As you can see I've made quite a few modifications to the original model. Basically because his size was 4/5 of a standard tactical marine, despite being the damn chaptermaster. He just looked silly together with other marines and had a retarded face, so I chopped him up and replaced what I didn't like to achieve a decent result. I don't plan on using him much though.

Here are the first Astartes of Despoiler Squad Zerach, nothing fancy, just some kitbash. As you can see I like to use older armour marks.

I might add some skulls and chains to decorate them. Also planning to add some lizard skins, because when they are home at Cretacia they tend to remove their wargear and hunt dinosaurs. Yeah, that's right.

Here are some tacticals that I started painting a while ago. Not finished though.

This topic is nicely times, as I want to get a small FT force to scratch a long (twenty or so years!) standing itch. Very nice looking models happy.png

I didn't know that Seth is smaller than average blink.png

The older marks, especially Mark V suit Flesh Tearers quite well.

After getting a Dark Apostle in Fine Cast, I think I'll be kitbashing my own Seth to be honest. Fine Cast models are far...softer than I'd like.

I'll be keeping a weather eye on this happy.png

Very nice start. The Marine holding his helmet in the last pic looks really cool. From what I can see, great job on the face.

Thanks! I hadn't noticed your log before, but you've got some damn awesome stuff there, nice inspiration.

Join us, and be cleansed in the blood! It's just the model of Seth that is small, in the fluff he's described as huge.

MK V has that brutal look hasn't it? :D

Thanks btw!

Sharp looking kitbashing.  Love the holding the helmet look.  You got to think it would get hot under there.  Looking forward to seeing some more of your work.

Thank you guys.

I like the look of the helmet holding guy. Any chance we can get a better angle on him? Nice work so far.

Not at home currently, but rest assured that I will upload more shots of everything when it's finished smile.png

Edit: Found this at my phone! not finished and not the greatest pic but it's another angle.

These are some great Flesh Tearers, the MKV works wonderfully well for them. As of course so do the chain-axes. ;)

The Seth conversion is good, still retaining the movement and look of the original but adding the brutality it should have. Looking forward to seeing more.

Nice work. Where did the head from helmet guy come from? smile.png

It's from death company or sanguinary guard box.. I replaced the prettyboy locks with a haircut more suited for the Flesh Tearers utilitarian nature.

@Darth: Thanks, I painted them more bloody red from the beginning, but that just looked wrong to me so I stripped them and used a red with more magenta in it :)

@deathspect: Thanks dude :D

@Blindhamster: That's a compliment, coming from you, cousin! Love your stuff. I wish I had your sculpting skills and patience :/

Thanks, I currently have about 1500 pts worth of stuff that I'm planning to build and paint, I'd like to get more but I've promised myself not to buy more stuff before I've painted at least 750 pts...

Where is the head you used for Seth from? It's noticeably different to the chubby faced original one

I think that it's the one found in the Forge World Sons of Horus Reavers kit.

Great work Entei. I'm really liking the character you've managed to put into each model and am looking forward to seeing more! :)

Indeed, I removed the mohawk and made his nose a little less hawk-like. Thanks :)

I've been busy with work and studies for the last weeks, so I had to put this army on the shelf for a while, but now I've got some time to continue. Incoming Death Company + Librarian, hopefully before this week has ended.
