2000 points Iron Hands- Istvaan V force

Hi guys

Ive been looking at making a themed Iron Hands army for the upcoming Massacre book. Being an old Deathwing player, a pure Legion terminator list was a natural choice. Also, a pure terminator force supported by armor seems very much the style of the army, that Ferrus fielded during the Istvaan campaign.

 

HQ: Praetor, paragorn blade, cataphractii armour (155)

Troops I: 5 Legion Terminators, 1 plasma blaster+cf, 2 combi-plasma + powerfist (224) 

Troops II: 5 Legion Terminators, 1 plasma blaster+cf, 2 combi-plasma + powerfist (224)

Troops III: 5 Legion Terminators, 1 reaper autocannon+cf, 1 pf (205)

Troops: IV: 5 Legion terminators, 1 reaper autocannon+pf (195)

Heavy support: 3 predators, 3 executioner cannons, 3 HB sponson (405)

Heavy support: Land raider phobos, armoured ceramite (270) Transport for squad I

Heavy support: Spartan, flare shield (320) Transport for squad II + praetor

 

total: 1998

 

1 praetor (paragorn)

20 terminators; 2 plasma blaster, 4 combi plas, 2 reapers, 3 chainfists, 5 powerfists, 10 power swords, 2 power axes

6 twinlinked lascannon shots, 3 executioner cannons, 8 heavy bolters(2 twin linked)

 

So, a rather small army with 4 scoring units: lots of plasma to boil away traitor legionaries, some lascannons to blast away anything that can threaten my armor/ enemy squads rich with AP 2 weapons(10 plasma gun tactical support squad!) and 2 heavy tanks that can hopefully soak some fire without breaking completely down.

 

Decision:

1) amount of power axes vs power swords? I tend to heavily favour power swords, since i plan on blasting other terminators to bits with plasma and mulch legion tactical squads with my terminators

2) lose a predator and use points to upgrade the rest of the tanks, add a few powerfists/combi weapons and possible a laser-rapier
3) Ditch the LR Phobos and find a way make to space for a second spartan : gives more omph going into 2500

I was gonna say ditch the Phobos and go for a 5th Terminator Squad. 4 squads feels small looking at the list. 5 seems more intimidating. Even if they are footslogging it.

I feel that having multiple land raiders offers better survivability of my tanks.
If I were to take more terminator squads, i'd probably take some tartaros pattern terminators, to increase their mobility.

I also thought about ditching the 3 preds and buying 2 land raider proteus instead. This would mobilize the entire army and also give a staggering 10 lascannon shots pr turn - even with the tanks moving! I know that the Proteus isn't an assault vehicle, so id stick the autocannon squads into the to provide supporting fire as my CC terminators advance..
