Force of Titan

Sup everybody,

Here's my WIP of my Grey Knight forces... slowly being assembled and painted. Trying to put together a 1750 point force for South Africa's biggest tourney coming up in 10 days time! After that I still have a boatload to convert and paint.

So a lot of the infantry as been painted already. Those I'll post when I take photos of tthem, currently working on the vehicles and making speedy progress.

Regarding the Dreadknight: Xenos slaying, you're doing it right! thumbsup.gif Xeons are tricksey and bisecting them is not a gaurentee the taint is gone!

On a serious note the posing and painting are excellent. I will have to reconsider my basing for my contemtor. The poses on all the dreads are great.

I normally hate the Dreadknight model. Looks exposed, static and like a sniper's wet dream come true.

But that is badass. The posing transforms it completely. The best bit is how the pilot's pose mirrors that of the exosuit itself.

Since you have obvious talent at modelling, any plans to do similarly dynamic poses for your regular Knights?

Shot for all the support so far everybody, feeling the love and it's appreciated.

Ooooh, man... don't even get me started. The first army I ever played against was Eldar. It was the bane of my existence... I as a person have a preferred enemy against all Eldar, so naturally I had to channel it into a model of sorts. Glad you dig it :)

Agreed. I don't like the standard pose of a dreadknight at all.... I had to do something about it. Well, to be honest, I did pose my GK a little bit, but nothing to the extent of the DK, I was too overzealous when I got them all, I just wanted to assemble it and look at all the badass plastic dudes... in hindsight, I should've taken my time. Live and learn :)

Very cool all of the dreads look great how about one with a dead WE.

Hmm... a Dead WE? Help me out here, my brain is scrambling trying to find a model the initials... Wraith...something sweat.gif

Wasnt that dreadknight hell to repose?

To the warp and back... pretty much cut everything that connected it to the joints and put it back together with industrial strength epoxy putty.

Okay Peeps, this will be the last set of images of DK until he's a 100% done. He's sitting at like 95% currently. Some touch ups and heraldry and he's done. Then the final pic and no more of the DK - Now onto the Dreadnoughts.

My interpretation is that the Bloodletter was gripping the sword when the Dread bashed into him. His hand, still gripping the sword, was severed from the rest of his body as it was knocked back violently.

Great minis! They seem to have a great gritty/flaky look about them that makes the weathering very convincing.

My god those GK are awesome!

The attention to detail is great especially the bases looks amazing, there are so many people out there neclecting the importance of good basing...

It's really nice to see a fresh take on the GK colours, and my god it has turned out great thumbsup.gif

How did the dreadnought cut that Bloodletter's hand off msn-wink.gif

Great painting. Wish I had the funds to be able to use a wraithlord as terrain tongue.png

You know... it's been bothering me too, actually. The severing is too clean... I think if I drill a half-hole sideways into both the hand and the arm and add some black it might seem as if the Dreadie shot the hand off, whilst the bullet cauterised the wound in one stroke, what do you think of that?

Thank you very much :)

I LOVE making bases, I feel they tell the story of the mini. They are an integral part of all my mini creations. Thanks for the thumbs up :)

Alrighty. Another Dreadnought done.

I put the chaos termie on this base, maybe somekind Nightlord Colour scheme? Felt the turquoise compliments the red on the shoulders very nicely.

Now onto 10 Interceptors & 5 Termie/Paladins!

Okay, another update. I was working on my Interceptors and Paladins. I will post them shortly, but then I had the bright idea of tweaking my army list I'm playing this weekend. One of my favourite infantry based models of all time is the Terminator Chaplain. I decided to make him into my Inquisitor/Grand Master. Here's the process:

Kitbashed the Chappie with some GK termie bits, sprayed three layers each time going lighter and the rest is brush work.
