Brotherhood of Steel

I decided to not even go with the last chapter created due to the fact I really didn't want to cause any unnecessary problems so I did have a secondary idea. I will go with a Fallout parody Chapter though it won't be based off of it completely just it's behaviors.

Chapter Name: Brotherhood of Steel

Founding: 20th

Known Descendants: None

Chapter Master: Nikola

Homeworld: None

Fortress Monastery: None

Colors: Grey, Blue BoS Insignia

Specialty: Stealth, Tank Warfare, Aerial Combat.

Strength: Barely Chapter Strength.

Battle cry: "We covet technology for technologies sake, even if it means it puts us at odds with our allies, and turns them into our enemy." (Not intended as a battle cry it is only a quote inside the Brotherhood.

Background: Closely related to the Praetors of Orpheus the Brotherhood of Steel used to have the same doctrine as Praetors or Orpheus except that they became too curious about advanced energy techs and wanted to improve upon it, which also happens to includes Xenos tech and has taken it's fanaticism for that technology to an all time extreme. They scavenge areas of recent battles for signs of energy weapons and will also strip power armor off of dead space marine from other chapters. This usually puts them at odds with other chapters, since there sometimes are survivors shooting at them when they witness the Brotherhood looting their comrades bodies. They have also dedicated one of their cruisers as a sort of research vessel for carrying out energy weapons and armor research.
The behavior witnessed has earned them a reputation as a renegade space marine chapter, since they are hell bent on collecting advanced weapons tech means they will usually always employ energy weapons on the battlefield usually meaning they barely expend conventional ammo during battles. after battles they also collect the conventional weapons and ammo as a fallback plan when and if their energy based weapons are somehow all disabled. They will also salvage destroyed space marine vehicles to supplement their army and repair them which also makes them the Orks of all the space marine chapters.
The Brotherhood of Steel still inducts recruits, but usually on the human controlled backwater worlds that have no contact with the Imperium or any other entities fighting said faction. They will choose the hardiest and toughest of the local populaces of those worlds and take them in as initiates.
They'll usually come down hard on Tau, Eldar Dark Eldar and occasionally demanded Imperial Guard to give them their lascarbines for further researching until they attacked the Grey Knights for force weapons after trying to demand for those, though rarely with Grey Knight due to the severe losses incurred during battle with them.
Their true curiosity of Xenos tech really came when they learned all they could of Imperial energy weapons tech, it happened when they we're defending a Hive world close to the Tau empire when their thirst for knowledge for Xenos energy weapons tech came to light after some of their battles they started to collect the weapons and armor off their fallen foes.

Organization and Combat Doctrine: The Brotherhood of Steel really won't pick a fight unless some else has something they want so they'll attack anyone if they have an advanced piece of tech they have detected. but during combat they usually make good use of Storm Talons and Ravens to wipe out tanks and APC's and will usually also have whirlwinds and predators picking off troops and other tanks, they'll make use of snipers scout squads for taking out troops and tactical squads usually are a last resort defense or assault strategy.

Chapter Organization

4 Tactical Companies

1 Tactical Terminator Company

1 Scout Company, 5 Combat Scout Squads, 5 Sniper Scout Squads.

1 Anti-Tank Aerial Combat Company

1 Anti-Troop Aerial Combat Company

1 Anti-Tank Armored Combat Company

1 Anti-Troop Armored Combat Company

Beliefs: They believe they should collect every bit of advanced Technology they come across and salvage what they can to either boost or replenish their arsenal and or also come up with secondary options if and when they are unable to fight as usual. they believe they should also research the technologies to better their forces chances of building better versions. They usually don't care who they scavenge or attack when it comes to energy weapons.

Hoping this one is a little better than my first attempt I kinda gave up on the other one since I really couldn't figure how to change it for the better. also thinking of converting my army to this scheme.

Updated. though I don't know who they would call in or if it's just inquisitors, and how many worlds there are close to Tau borders and if it's okay to make one up.

I like the idea. The BoS do have a healthy basis for a Chapter. If you take this route, you should focus on expounding the causes and the "why"s. What were they like when they were founded, what lead them to the pursuit of technology? Wanting it "just because" isn't very characterful. Part of what makes the BoS interesting is that they have (or claim to have) a reason that they should have all this tech and no one else should. But it remains in question whether or not that is actually the case.

What you've described also sounds heretical enough that they would be considered more than just renegade. There's no attacking the gray knights and getting away with it. As Astartes, they might have the political clout to justify attacking guard regiments and get away with it, simply claiming that they were traitors, but it might require killing them to a man. As Space Marines, they might be able to just demand the tech. It would be a waste to massacre an entire guard battalion over a few las carbines. Also, if they're collecting and trying to use xenos technology, that would get them in trouble.

So maybe first, you should decide just how loyalist/renegade/traitor you want them to be, and adjust their attitudes and motivations accordingly.

Cool choice!  I’ve
always like the Brotherhood and would make a great chapter, But there is more too them than just stealing laser tech. They originally had the goal of
preservation of advanced tech but believed Wastelanders to be ignorant and irresponsible to be given any.

This would fit well with the current tech state of the Imperium. A group actively seeking Advance Tech, from the golden age or even Xenos, in order to advance the Imperium and destroy its  enemies. This could upset the Adeptus Mechanicus, so it might have to be kept secret ;)
