However, let me just say the warpstorm table wasn't very nice to us ;). TheDevourer Posted January 7, 2014 Author Share Posted January 7, 2014 Battle Report - Game 1: Mission: 5 Objectives with secondary 2*Warlord, 2*Breakthrough and 2*Kill the enemy (Choose one unit per opponent that you will kill, gaining 1 point if you do so) Set up: Dawn of War Opponents: Ravenwing 2*6 Bikers with attack bike (1 Multimelta,1 Hvy Bolter) Bike Command Squad (Dakka Banner, Plasmas) Sammael on Jet bike Darkshroud Landspeeder Adeptus Sororitas (Not sure about exact names for all units) Hq with stubborn book Command Squad with 4*Hvy Bolter 2*10 Sororitas Hvy bolter 3*Pentinence engines 1*Missile Tank 5*Jump Pack chicks Pre game: My warlord trait was reroll warpstorm, took the glyph on my herald, axe of khorne on my warlord. Scag got -1 to Fear tests as warlord trait. Managed to roll forewarning and reroll saves for his casters. We played on the slaanesh themed board (Well it was pink, so close enough) There was no night fighting and our opponents took first turn. We scouted all hounds forwards. And waited for them to start the game. To be honest we lost alot of time because they weren't very good. Lots of rules queries and they discussed their set up for ages. We declared their jump pack squad and a squad of bikes as the units we would kill. While they declared they would kill our screamers and my herald (You couldn't declare that you would kill the warlord however) Turn 1: They moved into position and then opened fire on the hound squads. The bolter banner making short work of 13 of my hounds and the sisters taking out 8 of scags hounds. In out turn we moved into assault range. I positioned myself ready to multi charge 6 bikers and the command squad. We rolled on the warpstorm table and I rolled a 7, rerolled and got a 7 again. Scag rolled a 3 and killed his own warlord. In the assault phase I lost 3 hounds to the mass tl shots the bolter banner put out. Scag wiped out 10 sisters and I killed a measly 2 bikes and an attack bike with all of my hounds and a herold... Thanks to the feel no pain rolls on the command squad (He saved all 4 herold wounds wit fnp). I challenged sammael and we each lost 2 lives. He then used hit and run and left the combat. Turns 2-3: We had 3 hours for this game and to be honest it was frustrating playing them after 1 1/2 hours we finally got to round 2. And they proceeded to fire upon us. The jump pack chicks deepstruck and scattered into one of our units only to return into reserves. I lost another 8 hounds and scag lost a screamer. In our turn we moved in for the kill. The warpstorm table killed my portalglyph herald (Damn 3 again...), my daemonettes assaulted the landspeeder and 3 bikes and although they hit with 20 attacks they failed to do anything. The opponents used hit and run again and proceeded to spam shot after shot of bolters into our squads. Screamers took out 10 sisters and the missile tank. I spammed small squads of horrors from the glyph and we had wiped out all but the jump packs and the pentinence engines by the end of turn 3. The pentinence engines in turn used their hvy flamers to burn through our hounds but were finally wiped out by the screamers. Turn 4: We tried to take as many objectives as possible. The warpstorm table did nothing. A lone horror blew up the darkshroud and the jump pack sister assaulted a squad of scags horrors on an objective. We stopped after turn 4. And the score ended up being 14-6 in our favor. Had the game gone on we probably would have taken out the rest of their forces. The sisters player had 4 jump pack chicks and the ravenwing player had 3 bikes and 3 command squad bikes with sammael who was left with 1 life. The game was still great fun, were really nice opponents and we had a good laugh. But considering we wanted to place in the top 3 this game was kind of depressing due to long periods of wait time and their general slow play (Which was not intended). But I guess we've all been beginners before . TheDevourer Posted January 14, 2014 Author Share Posted January 14, 2014 So I just completed my CoC vows and am now going to have to take a break from painting for my exam phase which will be starting in 3 weeks. I'll probably paint a little during this time, but I'm not positive. Soo updates will be slow for now. Battle reports for the remaining games may leak in depending on how much time I have.
