Saintspirit Posted September 9, 2013 Share Posted September 9, 2013 I recently read Aurelius Rex' very interesting writing about the Iron Hands, and what happened to them in the Dornian Heresy; therefore I decided to convert some necronized marines (particularly fitting since I bought the Necron codex some years ago without any that good reason). Have also always liked the IH:s, so this might be quite fun. Saintspirit Posted September 23, 2013 Author Share Posted September 23, 2013 Hello again - I don't really have anything new to show, although I am working slowly on my second IH; the thing was just that I was thinking a little about the DH-Raven Guard (now then it is of course possible that this idea already have been made up by someone, but in any case) - wouldn't the Warp Talon models work pretty well for converting them? Also, another thing I didn't really get was what kind of vehicles they are using now? I understood that they now used weapons like gauss, phase and all that, but do they still use SM-like tanks (but with the necrony touch) or have they switched to skimmers? Of course, it is possible that this hasn't been decided yet (IMHO, it appears as if the DH is half dead ) Yeah, the Iron Hands have gone kinda full Necron with their weaponry now and as for their tanks I think there was a bit of fluff that mentioned an IH Land Raider that was basically fused with the tech of the Necron Monolith, it was made of (or at least armoured with) Necrodermis that reformed when blasted with Meltaguns, it had a Monolith Portal in place of a Assault Ramp and was apparently co-ordinating the entire Iron Hands assault. I imagine it's a similiar deal with their other battle tanks, all skimmers with hover tech instead of treads and necron weapons, Predator Destructors armed with a Tesla Destructor and sponson-mounted Tesla Blasters or Vindicators packing Doomsday Cannons or Heat Rays. You should totally continue, even if I ever play with you I have to do some internal mental gymnastics to redefine your army as just another awful heretek Chaos warband. As for the tanks, maybe you can mount the Doomsday Ark's weapons on the Predator chassis (using it as an anti-armor platform), or the Annihilation Barge's weapons on the Razorback chassis (using it as an anti-infantry platform)? Hm, I'm not so sure about the ribcage being metal coloured... I have seen a few others painted that way, but yet I'd rather have them in pretty much the same colour scheme as in original (except then the green gauss stuff).
