Well, here I am with a test wip........finally. real life has been kicking my censored.gif .

I have recently discovered that I don't like green. at all. my mates say it's good, but I don't know if I can paint these for the long haul......

here it is.

Honestly I had thought of mixing Lamenter yellow glaze with a little Ageax earthshade and a little Lahmian medium. maybe that will work. If I can just warm up AND darken the green, I might be golden.

If I legion hop, It might be the fists. I was originally planning Iron Warriors, but, as Heathens will be my main opponent, it would be awkward I think!

there is always the XIIIth

but I am going to stick it out for a bit. maybe I need to paint my Praetor, that would do it, maybe?

OK, new plan. I am going to switch to white primer. make My own dark green, wash with brown, highlight with a medium green, and Glaze yellow.

with the Bronze. Doom bull brown, brass scorpian, seraphim sepia, hashut copper, durchii violet(50/50 w/lahmian medium) bright gold highlight.

I am determined to find a green I like!

Well, I am going to start my Praetor. if only to set a tone for my army.

it's decision time. should I do the standard mini?

or should I go with the "SiegeLord" version.

I know the Hammer hand is backwards! and that is not the shield I am using. that is 1000heathens' shield.  (I gotta get these to you...and that brush, don't I) I plan on a heresy era boarding shield, A different, more "blingy" hammer, and maybe some sort of Dragonesque crest on the helmet. now on the shield design. do I go with the standard crossed hammers or, a twin tailed fireball?  decisions decisions.

Dude I'm digging that guy, though I am a bit irritated because I'm doing the same thing. Siege minds think a like I guess

Edit: irritated is a bad choice, makes me sound like an ass. Disappointed would be better word, as I for some reason thought I was original

well, I am going to go out on a limb and say the Siege lord is a better choice! yeah I don't care for the Archeocrap pistol anyways. I just need a new shield(BUH-LING), and gotta sculpt a drake crest! maybe a scaled shield? hmmmmm.

and when I can FINALLY get ahold of some darkelf corsairs he will of course have a cape befitting a badcensored.gif !

also this guy has gotten me more excited than I have bee for any project I've done in the last few years. yep, I'm sticking with the Sallies(you still got 'em for the Battle for Humanity Jasp!)

it's amazing what rthe Right mini can do for an army!

oh, and I did get his new Thunder Hammer done!

and a close up of the hammer in question.

well, I gotta go and figure out his helm crest now.

And I kinda need to re-think the Eagle pauldron, not a big fan. maybe rework into a dragon?

suggestions welcome.

Remember Istvaan,

prime

That is one sexy hammer :p and I'd go for a scaled shield, would fit him and you could easily paint it up in reds/yellows for flames, plus I think it would contrast nicely with the green and bone of the armour/hammer :)
