well after this guy is done(working on concepts now, really) I am going to get my Breachers together and swap out a tac squad for some good old fashion Assault guys(if only to cover "no mans land" on Heathens table before I get shot to hell! i will also be working on a Dread talon(don't know how many yet) and a termie squad. foe fast attack, I'm stuck to be honest. but, I am also getting to notion of a 10 man Dev squad with either multi-melts or heavy flamers. and I guess I need a tactical squad for the support squad. (volkite chargers, anyone?)

I will probably only have one contempter because of my army fluff, but there will be veterens! I like power weapons!

 

I Say two Breacher squads, a tactical support squad with flamers and a heavy support squad with heavy flamers, 10man for all :P

 

Also with your capt's breacher shield, what about using the Games day boarding marine shield? Or is it a bit too eagley for you?

I have a lot of lizards in the front yard. Could probably skin a few for you and send em your way. Would make for some sweet firedrake hides. Your Breacher Captain could mount one of their heads around his helmet.

working on the right pauldron and helmet crest today, hopefully. and I might do a test sculpt on the scales for the shield. might even order a Dark Elf corsair cape off the old Ebay today as well.

I believe I might even put some paint on the hammer arm.

Did some cutting on the Praetor models today. Am I the only one who gets nervous with a knife around Forgeworld resin!

 

I am currently playing around with the idea of giving him a Volkite charger. I cut the ARCHEOCRAP pistol of and cut the VC off the TDA praetors hand(man that hurt!) and reworking the cables to connect it. I also started cutting a DW halberd to make a "paragon" hammer for the TDA praetor. I used a littl off cut to improve/replace the old "back spike/blade" thing. what you think so far?

I am doing the Charger as well as the boading shield because;

1. I can, the rules allow it.

2. I like options.

3. I think it would look cool for him to have a shield on his back while using his gun.

 

I will also be doing a shield arm with a shield, for much the same reasons

don't worry I'll be rather tense when mine arrive next week... luckily however I'm using the archeotech as a fancy plasma pistol for my praetor-come-legion champion :D who will also have a refractor field (or boarding shield) and Combi-Melta for extra funs :P

 

The hammer looks nice so far, a little work on the back-spike and it'll be crisp, are you strapping the shield to his back?

well, I thought about magnetizing the left arm so I can swap them out (active shield/aiming volkite) and when he has the volkite arm, yes there will be a shield on his back. when he has the shield arm, there wi be a volkite holstered SOMEWHERE on him.

 

your conversion sounds awesome BTW, i look forward to seeing it.

Damn skippy,

Just wrote up the base of 3 new army lists.

Once I finish my oath for the WE ill start on making the new WE list so hopefully ill have approx 6000 pts of WE by the time this oath my exsisting models and the new list are complete.

 

But I think the IF and AL will take priority

so yeah I got distracted. I have never been a fan of those (cue Creed) arms wide open, gimme a big 'ol hug poses!

 

as a Warfighter(retired) I know that the key to survival is sillouette reduction.

 

the TDA Praetor is a horrible example of the pose! so, woth a hobby saw and a very sharp x-acto knife I started fixing the issue.

Thanks AA, I am kinda going for a "come at me Bro" pose, but with The Confidence only a warrior who has fought since the unification wars. I have to wait on an order to make his hammer(need the Empire general hammerhead). I also need a volkite Charger for his waist.

I like what you're doing F-P but that left arm looks unnaturally straight. I noticed it on my Dark Angels and grew to hate the thing. I figure, you have more skill than I and could cut it to make it more "relaxed"

did a little more work on my Legion champion. I kinda thought his arms were a little bare, that will not do for a legion of armour and weapon smiths! so, I took the lower armgaurds of the the TDA Preator shaved the DA arms a little, then glued 'em down!

 

here he is so far.

now the issue I am having is that there is a lot of blank room on his upper arms. so to fix this, I am thinking this.

kindof a crap attempt at adding lineart. but having a lizardskin cloak with the leather straps would tie in all the details I think.
