I've always wanted to do Imperial Fists, but due to paint coverage when I started (some 13 years ago) it was impossible for me to do them to a proper standard, so I ditched the project. With the new Codex Space Marines and the new releases (as well as yellow paint that actually covers ) I've decided to start a small'ish Imperial First force. here's the pic's you all came to see. I've got Pads on the way from GW for that shoulder somehow I find it looks weird to have a massive moulded pad on one shoulder and then a plain on the other.. thanks for the praise, it's actually my first captain in a non-combat pose, it was quite interesting to do. Step 1: Prime black, Step 2: 2-3 coats of Averland Sunset (complete cover), Step 3: Reikland Fleshshade, Step 4: A thin layer of Averland sunset Step 5: a Highlight of 1:1 Averland Sunset/Yriel Yellow Step 6: Lamenters Yellow Glaze Somewhat easy to do actually.. I bought him in the hopes that I could convert him into something useful.. as you can guess I gave up and used the Praetor instead.. here's a final pic for tonight, I've got an early morning tomorrow. It really highlights the capabilities of the new kits and all the awesome stuff you can do with them in combination with other bits and models. Especially that Captain. He is killer.
