Greetings frater of the AoD! So after quite a while roaming around the forums, ocassionally contributing and rarely posting any of my projects, I've decided to take the plunge and finally start a thread for my projects regarding the Horus Heresy. The main project is an Imperial Fists "narrative" army, mainly following the story of the 81th Company from the void engagements of the battle of Phall to the desperate defense of the Siege of Terra, reaching to its maddened aftermath. Although some units might have a single iteration, I intend to show the progression of some characters and units through the turmoil and events of the Heresy, be it in the fluff or in miniature form (maybe both). It might also include elements from other legions or armies that join them in their battles, but the Fists should and will be the core of it. Occassionally, however, I might show individual pieces that I might fancy doing, little snippets or scenes from various points in this vast conflict. It might go from a single miniature, to a unit, or a small diorama or scene. For now, I will just dump some pictures of different miniatures and units I have at different stages of progression, from early WIPs to finished miniatures (there are very, very few of them, I must say ). Most of them have some degree of fluff associated, but it is mainly inside my head and I usually can't be bothered to write it down (which is something I intend to change, although being a non-native English speaker might make it a bit complicated ). Maybe hearing your thoughts or opinions might help me find motivation and ideas to finish my ideas, since I tend to start building miniatures or thinking fluff for them just to leave it unfinished for months/years . So, without further delays, my humble dump of pictures, with some anotations to them (to give some insight, but also to keep the mistery where needed): Second squad of the 81th Company, under the command of veteran sergeant Raimund. http://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/w490/Risollano/00b2347f-6a43-48cc-bd8e-279fcc9b55ba_zpsestwanar.jpg http://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/w490/Risollano/8d765384-e274-4455-acb7-ef8261b3c647_zpszodobr87.jpg http://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/w490/Risollano/20160815_121522_zpsa5o4k3ra.jpg Master of signals, first lieutenant of the 81th Company and commander of the frigate Herald of Liberation, Loctar Dibarion. http://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/w490/Risollano/Warhammer/Dibarion/1. I'll also try to start to post some of the ongoing WIPs to ask for the wise advice of this board. Fluff will be added sporadically.

So as part of the current IF challenge being held in the IF forum i have finished the start of a small Siege of Terra force, and thought i should post it down here for you all. This army started out as a idea to do a kill-team based on one of the ones in Saturnine (which if you haven't read is great), and i settled on the one lead by Garro. While this plan was a starting point i have soon started adding more models which don't quite fit into a ZM ideology, so the currant plan is to do a 2500 point centurion list and then start adding vehicles, and as such i am currently halfway there with the first 1250 points: Breacher squad 1 Breacher squad 2 Terminators Dreadnought Apothecary Delegatus Champion And finally a group shot of them all: Next up in the painting table is a 15 man Phalanx warder Squad, a 5 man support squad, and Garro himself which will bring it up to 2000 points. After that i will do a 10 man autocannon heavy support squad, and 3 quad rapiers. Following that a Caestus assault ram (for the terminators) a rhino (for the support squad) a defense line (for the heavy support) and a Sicaran Arcus (for the lol's). This will have me at 3000 points if i don't use Garro, and my plan then is to add some White Scars and some Blood Angel allies. Hope you like them and any comments and criticism is gratefully received. For Dorn and the Emperor!

I managed to snag a load of the new mk III marines, which I’ve fallen in love with. They don’t really fit in with the Thousand Sons I’ve already painted so I decided to start a second proper Legion with them. I've always been a big fan of the VIIth legion, so decided to do a Terran themed force (I’ll be adding some Custodes and Solar Auxilia in time to come). I’ll get round to figuring out some fluff but decided to add as much Templar themed iconography as possible as I love them in 40k Here’s a tester I’ve done for a Tactical Sergeant. He started off with a yellow chest plate and helmet, but felt it needed something to make it pop a little more, so painted the torso black instead. I’m unsure whether to do this for the entire force or just Sergeants and Veterans, maybe just do some vambraces or greaves black, will see how I get on as I go along. I’m also in the process of finishing up Fafnir Rann (because why not) and just started the first 5 tactical marines to go with my Sergant. Also, to finish the figure off I bought a load of Unreal Wargaming Sacred Ruins bases. They’re absolutely gorgeous, so will defo be getting some more soon. So yeah, here’s a pic of the sergeant before I changed the torso, and him completely finished. And c&c’s are most welcome!

A Successor Chapter of the Imperial Fists, this is what you get when you try to out-perform Ultramarines and Red Scorpions. The Hammers of Dorn were created in an unknown founding and are known to maintain a friendly (as in for a given definition of friendly) rivalry with the Ultramarines. The Hammers of Dorn are ridiculously compliant with the Codex Astartes to the point that they'll call out the Ultramarines on every divergency from the great book of war Roboute Guilliman wrote. They also extend it to other Ultramarine Successor Chapters. These marines take pride in Rogal Dorn further than any Imperial Fists Successor (as well as the Imperial Fists themselves), for Dorn fought alongside the Emperor during the final stages of the Horus Heresy during the Siege of The Emperor's Palace. This caused them also to believe that while Roboute Guilliman was a great strategist and tactician, only the sons of Dorn are capable of mastering the Codex he written, infuriating the Ultras and their successors (not to mention trying to steal the Ultramarines' boyfriends greatest rivals, the Word Bearers, away from them). Although it would be seen that they fail at trying to look at the Codex as great book of everything instead of a guide on how marines are supposed to be, they actually were pretty successful at utilizing it in a multitude of campaigns (especially the Damocles Crusade where their rapid adaptability actually gave the Tau problems, at least until Farsight cracked the Codex and used it to predict their every action). One would even suggest that they actually read the Codex from cover to cover and learned how to use every tactic in it while also using their brains. Even though they follow the Codex to the letter, they do put emphasis on firepower and protection (hence their frequent use of Devastators, Terminators, Dreadnoughts and Vindicators).- 1 comment

Eradicators done!
Stealth_Hobo posted a blog entry in Stealth_Hobo's Hobby Blog (Imperial Fists and Other Stuff)
These images shall be the grand opening of my blog. I finally managed to finish the Eradicators from Indomitus box. I'm trying to get more marines painted as we come closer to 10th edition and the release of another (pretty massive) box set. -
Hi all, discussing potential lists with an opponent and he believes if he takes polux and uses his void commander rule to give all models in a unit he joins deepstrike, this would also give it to any dedicated transport that the unit had. So potentially deepstriking landraiders. Now apart from being ridiculous, my interpretation is that the dedicated transport isn't part of the unit, it just carries them. That being said, GW does have previous form. So what say you brothers?

Rogal Dorn’s Auric Armour special rule: “No attack may wound Rogal Dorn on better than a 4+ regardless of its Strength or special rules.” Having just gone back and looked again, I think I’ve been reading that wrong and playing it as the equivalent of Transhuman - so any wound roll of 1, 2 or 3 fails. RAW, does that actually mean that any wound roll of 4, 5 & 6 fails? In effect, a reverse Transhuman, if you will? If that’s true, because he’s T6, does that mean he can only be wounded by S7 and up weapons?

I had a thought - in the fluff, we hear quite a bit that Imperial Fists favored Indomitus terminator armor during the heresy, and it absolutely true that the VII Legion has quite a few toys to play with when it comes to vanilla terminators, but after reading Praetorian of Dorn I had a brain-blast in terms of a new Imperial Fists-specific terminator squad. I'd love to get your input! Also, apologies in advance if this isn't the right place for this - mods, please feel free to move if needed! -- Imperial Fists - Huscarl Terminator Squad The elite warriors of the Primarch Rogal Dorn’s personal bodyguard, Huscarl Terminators were equally at home wading into the thick of battle with sword and shield as they were overseeing the fortification of the Imperial Palace in the days leading up to the Siege of Terra. When paired with a Vigil-Pattern Storm Shield, the armor provides nigh-impenetrable defense while still allowing Dorn’s chosen to fight unencumbered. Indomitus-Sol Pattern Terminator Armour confers a +5 invulnerable save and makes any model equipped with Indomitus-Sol Pattern Terminator Armour count as having assault grenades for the purpose of resolving charges. Unbreakable Defense – A Huscarl Terminator or Huscarl Terminator Sergeant may re-roll failed invulnerable saves of 1 when in base-to-base contact with at least two other models from this unit. Praetorians of Dorn – A Huscarl Terminator squad may be chosen instead of a Command squad as a bodyguard for any Terminator armor-equipped Praetor of the Imperial Fists (or the Primarch Rogal Dorn himself). Huscarl terminators must always be modelled/painted to be visually distinct from standard Legion Terminator models when used in this fashion.

Evening everyone, I used to be an active member on here quite a few years ago now under a similar name. Unfortunately I've had to make a new account (I'll edit all my details and stuff later), however it's not a bad thing to start fresh! So without further ado, here's my finished FW Imperial Space Marine. I've had him a few years now and he has been both a Black Templar and an Ultranarine, however I wanted to finally do the model justice so spent a day repainting him. Heavily weathered, I wanted to show him as being the front line soldier he should be. As always, I hope you like. Cos
