1750 3rd Co vs Necrons plus Tau, Mod KPs

Added comment - for those into the list slang, my opponent was playing a modified wraith-wing list.  Wraith-wing apparently equates into the destroyer lord plus wraith combo.  And yeah, the amount of work it took to take just the wraiths down was rediculous.

According to the various pod-cast sources I've listened to since this game all say basically the same thing for this...which is...don't waste time or dice shooting at the wraith-wing unless you have a unit dedicated to just that.  Instead, go about you mission objectives and spread your units a bit so the wraith-wing cannot get a multi-assault.

In this particulare game, I tried to tackle the wraiths and destroyer lord combo, while still going after the opponent's troop choices (when the wraiths were not available to shoot at), and it made the game less winable for the necro-tau player.  In particular, when his kroot finally infiltrated, they should have gon after my objective by the shortest possible path or reclaimed the necro-tau home objective for the win.  But again, both of us players were goofing off a bit and not being seriously focused on the objectives.

For you Marine or Chaos Marine players, the wraith-wing can be proxied by a fully kitted terminator captain or master with the right relic or weapon, accompanied by a bunch of thunderhammer/stormshield terminators.  This might be most effective if done with or supported by blood angels apothecary (for the FNP bubble) or librarian (for the cover bubble). Don't bother to have any shooting weapons in the unit.  Just move and run, move and run...just something to try...

And for those who want a special cookie - here is another concept - the UM codex provides access to spells and weapons that are concussive.  If you splash in a wolf priest...in the right situation concussive can impact the results of playing jaws....jus' sayin....that's what I've heard....
