The_Chaplain
Dear PC&A questions, My local hobby shop had a restock of their vallejo range last night, and I thought I was finally going to get my hands on some of the liquid gold set- but according to the owner they might as well be gold, because they're extremely difficult and :cuss near impossible to track and order. I've fallen in love with the red gold color having seen it around the internet: (he picks up a spoon with red gold on it at the 6:33 mark) However, it isn't available as part of the liquid gold set on the vallejo website. Have they discontinued this lovely paint? Does anyone know how I can mix an equivalent color, or if there is a color in a competitor range? I'd like to get a pot or two of this stuff or its equivalent for the holidays so I can start painting stuff up in the new year. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Durus
I don't know anything about the availability issue, but it's still on Vallejo's color chart on their website. I've been able to find several online stores and ebay sellers that have it after a quick google search. Just order it online, if you can't find it locally. mateus of ultramar
i have the entire set of liquid golds, they are incredible just remember they are alcohol based and to use synthetic brushes with it, otherwise, amazing paints Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283030-color-equivalent/#findComment-3517376 Share on other sites
The_Chaplain
Thanks for the advice guys! Any recommendations for using humbrol enamel clear red? I've :cussed up so many brushes trying to use it and I'd really like to get my flyer canopies a bloody, spooky red. Is tamiya clear red a better choice? I hear that one is acrylic rather than enamel. DarkMark
Try looking through the Alclad II range; they do an almost exclusively metallic range. You may find something in there that catches your eye. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283030-color-equivalent/#findComment-3517461 Share on other sites

I don't have an airbrush yet, it's something i'll have to pursue in the future though.
