A question about the DKoK

Hello there, the Death Korps of Krieg are by far my favorite regiment of the Imperial Guard but I have a few questions about their regiments heraldic colours (and those of other regiments btw). We usually see the DKoK in dark-brown/black trenchcoats, but is this an absolute norm for all the death korps companies or is it known if other companies wear dark-red, blue, green, etc, instead of the usual colours?

I read Dead Men Walking recently and it says that "few Death Korps regiments chose any colour other than grey or black" (p. 17-18). In Imperial Armour 12 all the regiments are confined to these colours although I don't have my copy with me at the moment to confirm whether it explicitly says anything. Given the way DKoK are, black and grey seem most fitting -- they don't want to distinguish themselves -- but the fluff leaves it open for other colours. I couldn't see dark red, but dark green yes and a military shade of dark blue maybe.

Well, from my 3 Vraks books, there aren't many colors chosen, but they aren't entirely stuck to brown/black. There are some darkly light blues, greys, and greens as well.

Okay, thank you. I was thinking a dark, brownish red, not a bright vibrant one. Kind of crimson. Im making some plans for a Death Korps display piece and I was looking for ways to not go traditional.

I have not seen many not in the standard black/grey/green. The odd light grey ones too. Mine are 158th regiment, green/brown.
