Hey gang. Just remembered I had not posted a nugget of info I got at the Black Library Weekender. During the final Q & A, I asked if we might see some of the Scouring as a way to close out the series. All the authors agreed they desperately want to do the Scouring, with each having a favorite topic. John French wanted the Rubric of Ahriman, Graham McNeill wanted the Codex conflict between Dorn and Guilliman,  and I think A D-B wanted the Iron Cage. Lots of fantastic stuff to look forward too!

I honestly consider the damage done to the Ultramarines is more due to McNeil's poor attempts at writing them, a flaw in an otherwise capable BL author, than anything that has come from the Wardexes.

Pride is an acceptable flaw. Incompetence is not.

So after reading the Iron Cage massacre book, I will probably wind up considering to build a heresy iron warriors/imperial fists.

Thanks for making me poor ADB :P  I am already saying its going to be a good book without reading it yet.

P.S. ADB, make it a crappy book so I dont start another army please

I wonder if A D-B is going to be the God of Black Library, whose birth created the Bermuda Triangle where everything gets lost.....

Well Dan Abnett was too awesome to be contained in one mortal body, so he split off into another amazing writer we now know is ADB.

It would also explain the baldness....

As long as Dorn doesn't simply bend over and take it from Roboute then it'll be ok, although it took the imperial navy firing on a Imperial Fist battle barge to force it through I think.

Also ADB doing Iron Cage is epic!

It's probably a good thing we all pretty much love AD-B, considering he's probably the only BL HH author to read this.

Unless Pyroriffic pumps out a short story or something.

Maybe some scandolous Silver skulls origins? :D

Knowing McNeill's agenda for the Codex Astartes, it is going to go like this:

Dorn: "Roboute, the Codex is full of flaws, and following it closely would be disasterous."

Guilliman: "I agree. And I don't want it to be followed to the letter. I hope my Ultramarines will understand this and will not lose sight of it. But if they ever did, I hope that in the far future there will be a heroic individual who will recognise that fact and will steer them back to the true path."

You called?

If that was the extent of it, I'd be fine. But we both know it'll end in a homoerotic wrestling match that coincides with thousands of Imperial Fists dying to Ultramarines bolters as they become fugitives looking for a secret tome that would invalidate the Codex. Then the Terrible Angel will be blown out of the sky and crash onto the Emperor's throne, breaking it and condemning the Imperium to a slow death.

Eh?

Where has all this McNeill bashing come from? The only heresy work of his I've disliked has been The Outcast Dead but, apart from that he's always struck me as a solid author. I mean he wrote Fulgrim & A Thousand Sons and those books are great!

Just trying to understand why him writing the Dorn/Guilliman feud is the cause for mass panic.

McNeil wrote the Ultramarines series, which many Ultramarines fans, including myself, felt was an abysmal take. Essentially showed a force of bumbling fools, despite that they are meant to not just be successful but high on the list of most successful.

His depiction of the Codex remains the absolute worse depiction so far given in fluff, turning a grand library of military treatises gathered from Humanity's greatest minds for over ten thousand years into a children's puzzle book that you have to turn upside down to get the answers.

McNeil is a capable author and has written many good books. But he needs to stay the :cuss away from that.

Whoever this man is, I hope he shows up soon, before that heretic Ventris turns the Chapter into full fledged Chaos Space Marines!
