Well, brother, I don't mean to be rude, but you did kind of hand over most of the Chapter's secrets to Perturabo's Legion.

msn-wink.gif

It wasn't consensual! You try being inside a daemon and come back without unitentionaly giving away secrets.

Counted them though... just....

McNeil wrote the Ultramarines series, which many Ultramarines fans, including myself, felt was an abysmal take. Essentially showed a force of bumbling fools, despite that they are meant to not just be successful but high on the list of most successful.

His depiction of the Codex remains the absolute worse depiction so far given in fluff, turning a grand library of military treatises gathered from Humanity's greatest minds for over ten thousand years into a children's puzzle book that you have to turn upside down to get the answers.

McNeil is a capable author and has written many good books. But he needs to stay the censored.gif away from that.

Ah ok, cheers for clearing that up, I haven't read that series myself.

Still, I'm pretty confident that he'll be able to pull it off. Never judge a book by its author (unless its CS Goto :P)

If only it were that easy, Sith'ari.

Sadly, the Ultramarines series isn't some past trend he has since moved past. He has written good books in between those of the series. Which means, whatever his potential, he has a bad habit of slipping right back into his worst writing right after showing us that he doesn't have to.

It's not a ball and chain we angry fans tie him down with. It's a tragedy he keeps repeating over and over.

Hey gang. Just remembered I had not posted a nugget of info I got at the Black Library Weekender. During the final Q & A, I asked if we might see some of the Scouring as a way to close out the series. All the authors agreed they desperately want to do the Scouring, with each having a favorite topic. John French wanted the Rubric of Ahriman, Graham McNeill wanted the Codex conflict between Dorn and Guilliman,  and I think A D-B wanted the Iron Cage. Lots of fantastic stuff to look forward too!

Yes, yes, yes, all of these events are (yawns) riveting, but who's doing the most important one?

Skalathrax

For example, Storm of Iron(First Iron Warriors novel). Fantastic.

Nightbringer(First Ultramarines novel). Alright.

Chapter's Due(Latest Ultramarines novel). What in the blazes.......

False Gods(First McNeill HH book, second in series). I can dig it.

The Outcast Dead(5th McNeill HH book, seventeenth in series). A Space Marine just punched through power armor barefisted.................

Wait, where was it confirmed Eskrador does not have Ultramarines?

Ah yes, Skalathrax. Where the Legion of roid raging axemen ceased to function as a coordinated unit.

Which leads me to wonder, exactly when in the Heresy are the World Eaters going to START functioning as a coordinated unit.

World eaters dont need none of your girly taktics or koordin- coordin- RAAAAARGH

plus

we have a Khârn

See, this is a common mistake. People hear about the World Eaters and think in terms like "unit" or "army" or anything that means "a group of people." "People" as in with torsos and limbs and stuff.

Whereas it is more helpful to think of the World Eaters (and any other constellation of beings that happen to be in the company of Khârn) as Khârn and a collection of skulls.

I hope this clears things up a bit.

I really, really wish we could clone ADB and have him write everything related to 40K. Make it like 100 ADB;s, plz oh holy based gods of the universe, make it so and my soul is yours.

I used to think that, and don't get me wrong I love ADB and all of his work, but I enjoyed Angel Exterminatus* much more than Betrayer. I read them both within the same week, and haven't had a chance to reread them but yeah, AE won it for me. Obviously Betrayer was still awesome mind.

*Apart from the end with Fulgrim and all the spirit stones and flashing lights and rainbows, that seemed like something from a Japanese anime.

TFH isn't in my top 3 HH novels either. I know I know, burn me at the stake.

Saying that Emperor's Gift is one of my all time favourite Black Library novels, so I think it's more that I'm not a fan of the WB than not liking the actual novel itself.

I have no preference as to who writes what, just that if characters have been developed by other authors and are being used, that they PLEASE keep the same character/personality.

That was a dig at the many different Lion's that have appeared so far. Nothing more annoying.

Where was Eskrador confirmed period?

The IA articles.

You mean the IA article that also said the Ultramarines never aknowledged that it had happened and the only Inquisitor that ever had any info on it disappeared mysteriously and is believed to be an Alpha Legion spy? ;)

Yep. Besides, the Ultras deny they ever attempted to create the Unremembered Empire. msn-wink.gif

Not to mention, how do we know Legion or The Serpent Beneath are real since only the Alpha Legion survived each event? msn-wink.gif

No but seriously, see where that logic can go?
