Well, they never do. The authors are hell-bent on creating these cool and awesome characters for the legion, and then they kill them off at the end. :(

Is it even confirmed that the Ultramarines that fought there were actually Ultramarines? Maybe Omegon decided Alpharius was a liability... or vice-versa?!

Ultimately, that's what runs through my head when someone says "But only the Alpha Legion have records of it".

 

Besides, the Ultramarines have already sequestered one event from history to protect their "good name". Why not their entire war history? :D
