Ultramarines 3rd company "Scourge of the Xenos"

Hey guys, this is the beginning of something blue and beautiful. As part of a local gaming groups   army building league ive decided to finally bite the bullet and actually paint a 40k army! Outrageous, i know. I’m currently on month 2 of closing in on month 3 rapidly,

 

Here is the squad i painted for my own amusement months ago that has got my hooked on ultramarines, heavily inspired by a squad from white dwarf.

My list for army so far is 700 pts, 350 for each month

 

Captain, with artificer armour and relic blade.

 

Squad 1 10 marines plasma cannon and melta rhino and combi metla on srg

 

Squad 2 10 marines plasma cannon and melta rhino

 

Legion of the damned x5 plasma gun and plasma cannon

 

(captain may not be best option and may seen out of place, howver i reasoned that a small battle force would be lead by a captain, even one raised from a vet. Srg. to lead the small battle group(plus i love the model))

 

Next month over the charismas period it will jump up another 500 points over two months, and thats when the fun starts

 

Any advice for a fledgling battle brother would be greatly appreciated

Thanks very much for the kind words guys, but they where
naught but a prologue of something greater,

2nd squad, i came back a while later and cracked these
guys out, a damn sight neater and all round more lovely, i attribute this mostly
to using the new Macragge blue spray over brush baseing, marines really look great when a smooth
base is applied with spray or airbrush, could not recommend it enough.

Identical to the 1 st squad but for a combie metla,
hats off to the new tactical kit, truly marvellous,

 

 

 

A new experimental skin im working on, my supply ogoryn
flesh wash is dwindling and i will be unable to replace it so ive started using
fleshtone shade, which is a game colour paint (vallejo) really subtle matches
the subtleness of the highlights i like to use on skin

 

 

 

And a wip to show off have smashing that spray is.

Here’s a sneak peak of my 700 points for far from the red steel army
weighing, you can see a few rhinos and the commander as well as the legion in there which ive not shown off
yet, but will soon. It was done with a
pro cam. Real bad ass, its worth checking out some of the other armies
