It's a 26th founding codex chapter in it's infancy. The chapter name derives from a quirk of the geneseed; an overactive betcher's gland, which turns a battle hardened astartes into a slavering animal in the heat of battle. As such a Venomous Maw marine will never remove him helmet even outside of combat, and only the most honoured and veteran battle brothers are permitted to enter into close quarters combat unless absolutely necessary. Cilan's enhanced senses could taste it, and it made him salivate. "sergeant, enemy armour on our left flank fast approaching!" The brother sergeant looked to the left, whilst lazily spraying the oncoming cultists. An unseen grin fell across Cilan's face,and he turned to meet this new threat; A leman russ battle tank approached, it's many heavy bolters spitting death and it's punisher cannon roaring, festooned with chaos symbols and banners proclaiming the omnipotence of it's new gods. The mighty vehicle pressed in on the tactical squad, it's weapons all coming to bear down on the already beleaguered Venomous Maw. I'm pleased with how the catachan heads worked on the scouts (they were in a baggy in a draw for the last 6 years) but I think the h.bolter guy is deffo my favourite. Not sure what to paint their fatigues though what with their armour being white and pauldrons purple. Suggestions, comments, criticisms etc all welcomed The Heavy Bolter guy reminds me of Random (X-Factor, Marvel comics) Quite a characterful group with the Catachan heads As for the colour scheme for the scouts, perhaps a darker shade of white or even grey, with a much darker shade of purple as scouts have to be able to blend into their surroundings Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
