40k wiki is largely fan written and uncited, but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of "official" information on the chapter. There's older artwork where they definitely had a brass/gold trim, and the new artwork in the current codex which I think looks like orange trim.

I prefer the orange, but of course you're free to do what you like, I don't think either one is more valid than the other. Should be quite striking either way.

Here are two Brothers out of 7 I put together last night. The heads are from the vanguard kit the legs and arms from the new Tac kit torsos pouchs are from the old kit.And the bolters are from the sternguard kit minus the scope. The pad is from shapeways .

I approve wholeheartedly, the Chapter Icon especially!

Two things though: The brown you've used on the pouches is almost indistinguishable from the bronze, which leads to my second point, namely that the bronze could do with a slight dulling.

If you make a full log, you know I'll subscribe instantly.

1.50 per pad? eek.gif I guess that matches with the FW ones.. Or is it per pair? I was going to say good thing GW makes the BT ones, but looking back at the upgrade kit and its new prices, I don't know.. This hobby has a habit of sneaking into your wallet until you notice the cost of something that hits you in the face like.. the Hammers of Dorn!

Leaving pricing aside, and going back to these lovely models of yours, I disagree with the above poster about dulling your metals. I think part of the charm of the Hammers of Dorn is the contrast between a dull black and the shiny warm metals. I would agree about making the pouches more different though. Maybe they are not made of leather but say, a dark grey fabric?

There is also something odd about the model to me, I don't know if it is the blur or the shiny metals overpowering your black highlights in the picture, or if you need to be thinning your paints a little more. It's hard to tell.

Otherwise, those shoulder pads definitely do the job well and I think you have captured the spirit of your chapter with the colour scheme and execution. Now I want to see more! yes.gif

Thanks Brother I think its the shine from the wash I think  I'm very careful on applying my black. The metals are the new GW paints And I like them .On the on pad I put a gloss coat on before i put the sqd number on and did'nt add laeriman sealant yet.

Wallet shrinks alot lately. I will be adding some Sqd mates later in the week  have 7more put together.Plus have to finish 2 sqds of My Death Spectres.

The_Chaplin-I used for a base Balthasar Gold then a layer of Gehennas gold and for the fist and hammer a layer of Aurics Gold.

Jeremy1391 - thanks took the pic at 2:30am and the camera is a 39$ but did'nt use a tripod I have acouple of pic's that should look better I hope.

Here is a group shot -1 all of the Brothers were put together with extra bits and such. Except the sgt who was going to be someone else.had to order some power-packs and I did'nt base them .Used the 40mm bases so they would be able to stand.
