Brother Captain Vince Neil

Recommended Posts

Long story short, before we got rolled into the main Codex, I was a Black Templars player. I still consider myself primarily one, but I'm not going to arbitrarily limit myself to three or four pages of the codex. The way I see it, GW sold me a codex, so I'm going to play the whole codex, not just one army.

Besides I'd been eyeballing White Scars as a secondary army for a while now. But I didn't like the fact that the Khan model doesn't come with a bike. So I said censored.gif it and made my own. So here, mostly painted (he needs touch up work) is Brother Captain Vince Neil of the Van Halen crusade. When I play my Templars, he's a Sword Brother Captain on a bike. When I play my White Scars? He stands in for Kor'Sarro Kahn.

Basic fluff: The warbike was taken from a Warboss who he killed after his unit of Sword Brethren was ambushed by a group of Biker Nobz. Captain Neil was the sole survivor of the encounter. Desprate times calling for desprate measures took the only functioning warbike, one of his fallen brothers' boldguns and rejoined the fight, helping rally the victory. Upon return to the Crusade Ship Diver Down Captain Neil ordered the unstable xenos weaponry removed, the seal of the chapter placed upon the bike; but otherwise wanted it untouched. He believes The Emperor guided his hand in slaying the Warboss and in bringing the bike to him and that riding it into battle serves as a warning to those who would test his might, and the might of the Crusade.

Interesting!  I like the gun pose.  I guess the emperor is driving the bike for him at the moment :).  I think you could really add to the model by working on a cool base to add some additional dynamics.

Would suggest picking up a pin drill for the bolter barrels.  It's cheap, super easy, and makes a noticeable difference.  You can also do it later (doesn't have to be done in the prep stage), so can always retro apply.  I do find it better to do as you build the models though, as looking at 20 templars with boltguns to drill out can be intimidating!

I like the concept to be honest of:

Been trying to do that, but will leave the Captain of the Raven Guard out.
