What to do about the new Tyranids

You mean "same as before" right? msn-wink.gif

The Holy Trinity is the core of our army and there isn't much it can't deal with handily. From there it's a matter of adapting to your opponent's blasphemous tricks and heretical plans but if you really want you could argue that's mostly just changing the way you apply the Trinity tongue.png

Strength 8 vector strikes will challenge your Vendettas or strike fighters if you have been using them.  Mawlok (sp?) got a much needed boost so you will see these on the table again. I know a few people that will be happy the DoM is gone but honestly, it was never a problem.  It was kind of cheesy but more in a rules that don't fit the game setting sort of way.  Sure it could have 10 wouds but one hit from any S6 weapon was instant death.

Like WarriorFish said, business as usual as far as how we play against them.

Exorcist (It is a verb, I swear!) the medium nids... Are you T4? Instant Death... Too bad...

Exorcist the big nids... Have you killed all of the synapse yet? Hurrah.

Bolters and  flame the little nids... or any medium or big nids that get too close...

Flying nids? Quads guns will make them cry if you have one.

I'm just going to wait and see what nid players start running.

Personally I'm glad the Biomancy dren has been removed... it was pretty brainless and annoying.

I don't think nids are as bad as everyone says (though I think the same about Chaos Marines so what do I know?)  It's just going to mean that only the hardcore people will play them.

I'm sure there are many ways they will still be effective though; Deathleaper in particular looks to be good for some tricks.  Personally I think Raveners have a lot of potential too.

Also give it a few months and the 'Killer combos' will surface.

Silence, Naminé! The GREAT WILL of the Internet has spoken! You must conform to their decree or be forever banished to the Plains of GW Apologists!

For the record I'm not saying people shouldn't complain when GW does something bad/dumb; I'm saying they shouldn't wail and gnash their teeth like degenerates. Wait and see how the dust settles, it's not right rocket science right? Anyone remember the doom prophesied about the Leman Russ Punisher..? tongue.png

You haven't seen this Chimera. Plus she may play some fine hymns, but most of the Sororitas I've met ain't as down with sex, drugs, and rock and roll as some other 40k factions I could mention...

...except dem Repentia...

Maybe this opens up a new route to victory? If your nid opponent is in the... "loud" camp shall we say of the player base then it will be a simple matter to send him off on a GW hating tangent so he makes lots of errors, letting you sweep to victory with ease laugh.png

Temptations of the flesh are for the weak.

And the killer counter already exists; triple helldrake.

'nids would have to tailor their lists to counter that, or any serious air pressence.

Nids have more air presence then some armies I can think of, and there's nothing stopping them taking a firestorm redoubt to deal with that.

Actually one of those would be good for any nid player to take, so no you don't need to tailor.
