I really like the green wash/glaze effect, it looks like he's been walking through grass land and it's rubbed off a lot, along with other possible substances seeping from the armour (looking at the rear lower torso).  Almost as if Nurgle is already seeping from his very pours - but is keeping away from those lovely shiny gloss shoulder pads lol.

Your weathering is awesome!

But... it looks clean.... too clean, this is where I think the 'brown' washes come in and definitely add a bit of depth.

The white armour lacks the darkened recesses that demonstrates two pieces of armour joining together, it lacks the dirt and grime of mud and dust where it builds up most in the grooves, it lacks shadows in the darkened places where the sun doesn't shine or is often cast in shadow.  In particular - the torso - which doesn't show so much on your first mini, but without the additional step, shows up a lot clearer on this one.

It's a wonderful mini and I would be over the moon to have done anywhere near such a great job - but knowing how capable you already are, I'm just being picky :)

They both look great Chaplain, but I prefer the first one. Doh, sorry. Although, the difference in the two is very minimal, so I don't think it would really matter which way you went.

Also, the second one looks a little glossy still. Is that flash or something? You might wanna hit it with another light flat coat.

Cheers for the tutorial too bud. Much appreciated.

I tried enamel washing for the first time last night. Man, it's magic! It's really gonna add more depth to my minis.

:)

Really good to me someone using different techniques. Its occurred to me that AK, or now Ammo's, Interior weathering set is the perfect base for painting a DG force. The base colour is 'cream-white', the wash a dark green, and to finish it off a murky brown streaking colour. Anyways, I think you should add some streaking for that easy extra step.

My favourite from your line up is the DG followed by the IF. Please do do a loyalist force. yes.gif

I think on inspection you can see the difference but I think it looks good. What I am trying to say is that they should look a little different in subtle ways such as this. Plus it gives you different ways to paint on days that you want to get more or less involved depending on mood and time.
