Elmo, you sick sick man.... those two tanks look so fantastic.... I just hope you don't scare away the newcomers... :) This is exactly what i was hoping to get people to do, add more detail, equipment and have a go at freehand. Excellent work as always Elmo!

Look forward to the others who may join in.

That is not the way of the Dark Angels!!!

For the Lion!!!

Thanks SG - I hope I don't scare away the newcomers but fill them with ideas and motivation :)

I am sure that someone will submit a great work of art to this challenge. I look forward to seeing the other completions.

I've decided to take part in Artisan's Gambit. It's perfect opportunity to improve a little the painting of my tanks. smile.png

I Brother_Bethor of the Dark Angels Chapter make an oath of moment to honour my 4 tanks (the Sicaran Battle Tank and 3 Rhino APCs) with an image wrought from my own hands and to make ready my vehicle for battle!

Initial photos and the PLAN (WiP thread can be found here):

Sicaran Battle Tank:

I plan to add some battle honours, campaign badges, some battle damage and overall improve its paintjob.

the Rhinos:

The plan minimum for APCs is to paint the squad number and arrows on the upper hatches. I've yet to decide if this will be full colour or just the outline. Also I plan to finish the detachable dozer blade and apply decals (you could see the first attempt - tanks were later resprayed).

EDIT: wip thread link added.

For the Lion!

You forget my roots are from the 1st legion but my love waxes and wanes from day to day as I love all legions (except the SW, I feel the concept is great but the persecution of the legion/chapter/background/fan base/etc is not as fine tuned as other legions personal opinion if course)

But I take it as a challenge

Well met Brother_Bethor! Well met indeed. Nice set of tanks there. Look forward to seeing your handy work

Jaspcat, no way you can forfeit.... As Elmo said it's the way of the Dark Angels... stubborn and never give up :D

SG

Ok SG, count me in.

I cod_lover of the Angels of Revelation make an oath of moment to honour my Baneblade with an image wrought from my own hands and to make ready my vehicle for battle!

Pic from Currus Belli.

So I got 4 weeks from today. If I get this done, I would also like to add a few pintle/hatches to be used for my other tanks.

Any other brothers contemplating joining in? I'm sure you can do it!

Cod

That tank is already well adorned. I'd love to see what you come up with cod_lover. Six brothers have made sworn oaths... one more to make it the Magnificent Seven!!!

SG

Ok, I would be the seventh then!

I Galthan Ironsturm of the First Legion make an oath of moment to honour my  2 Rhinos Mk1 with an image wrought from my own hands and to make ready my vehicle for battle!

Jeepers Elmo,  Why did you go and post that awesomeness and get me all demoralised.   Hoping that the vindicator I am doing will be the start of a trio that i have stolen from, i mean been inspired by your work.

Anyway, realised I didn't post a starting shot so heres the kit fresh from the box, and a a little bit of WIP just to mark my starting point.  Damn the Aquilla is a bugger to get right.

Hey SG hate to do this but I'm dropping the rhino as my cousin is taking his force for a interstate trip so I won't have access to it :/

No fuss mate, whatever you can do is fine...

Vehicle inscriptions:

Frontal glacis and right turret mount name plates, 'Parum Leo.' Latin Translation = Little Lion.

Front turret mount, 'Paveo'. Latin Translation = Quake, be terrified, be scared.

Right flank, 'Ex Ungue Leonem.' Latin Translation = You may tell the lion by his claws.

Left Flank, Lion Motif.

This was my first go at freehand this size, at using powders and even using a light box (which has to go back tomorrow sadly, otherwise I would add more details!) I'm thinking I should buy a lightbox of my own!

+ + + BELLUM AETERNUS: ARTISAN'S GAMBIT + + +

Artisan's making oaths: 10   Artisan's completing their Gambit: 04

Well done brothers, ten of you have taken the artisan's oath to complete this gambit and a week in to the event four of you have completed them. Some very nice pieces of work coming through. I am impressed by the simple by very effective tactical arrow markings and how much better they look than the decals.

Come on brothers, 29 of you participated in the Currus Belli event with 20 of you keeping your oaths. Well brothers, the Artisan's Gambit is a one off, never to be held again event, so this is your chance to obtain your badges of the Artisan!
