BELLUM AETERNUS: ARTISAN'S GAMBIT

Here is a little more Artisan's Gambit, rhino hatch doors!

About the symbolism: I tried to come up with something old school DA looking with back swept wings, yet 'iron wing' related. The shield is for Company designation and the 6 pointed star was added because the last HH book I read said the DA had a symbol like this representing their 6 wings, or so I remember it, I think.

Cod_Lover, that is some amazing piece of work. Really excellent work.

I do need to clarify though, are you making a second oath for the Artisan's Gambit? Most welcome if you are.... if not is passion just carrying you through? whistlingW.gif though you can still make it an oath...especially with that quality!! smile.png

Cerroneth: Really love the freehand writing...and the wording in particular. Nice work!

Can we do better? Will the other five keep their oaths? Will others inspired by the current works of art give it a go? Will the Lion be pleased? :)

SG

SG, well I do have a few rhino hatches that could do with some designs added. So I really am doing it just with passion! Maybe also just to see what others thought about the design, like is it worth doing more like that.

So while not within the rules, as in it's not a complete vehicle, I could make an oath I suppose just to paint the remaining 3 rhino doors. Just for myself. I will take before pics when I get home tonight lol, just in case!

Can we have a list of the oath keepers?

You'll find it on the second post.... all oathkeepers have the Oath Fufiled hyperlinked and marked in yellow. Five out of five so far! When the event closes this Friday I will post the final tally and honour roll!

SG

I know. Just my typical bad timing sad.png

It's not bad timing, it's Fate's way of telling you to build a second Ares. Everything counts in large amounts!

DM fan by chance, Cactus? thumbsup.gif

Sorry sox, I don't do this txt spk abbrv stuff. Daily Mail? Doc Marten boots? Dungeon Master? ermm.gif

DM in this instance = Depeche Mode. I still enjoy listening to them as well thumbsup.gif

Though it doesn't even qualify for the full rules of the Artisan's Gambit, though it may serve no other purpose but to get me to complete them, I make another oath regardless!

I cod_lover of the Angels of Revelation make an oath of moment to honour my 3 remaining rhino hatches with an image wrought from my own hands and to make ready my vehicles for battle!

For the Lion and the Legion!

That's the thing about these challenges SG, they are fun and are an incentive to complete things, no matter how big or small

The aim is to match the hatch finished in a post above, I would of included it too but didn't take a before pic.

Artisan's making oaths: 10 Artisan's completing their Gambit: 05

Well, Sons of the Lion, the sands of time are indeed running out as the closing date comes rushing towards us all. FIVE of the TEN brothers who made their oths of moment have kept their faith with some astounding artwork, much of it their first attempt at such large freehand work. They honour their legion beyond the call of duty.

You may note that the Artisan's Gambit badge and imagery has changed somewhat sporting a ruby pearl along with the mechanicum device. This is perhaps your only chance of ever attaining this particular badge of honour so those souls who strive to collect all forms of artifacts and honorariums should make a note.

I look forward with hope to see the other FIVE brothers complete their oaths and hope that our Brotherhood of Angels will gather once more! ermm.gif

SG

Captain Sox! More DM related lines hmmmm yes.gif

Well pushed myself a bit today to get my lil mini oath done before friday, so personal artisan's gambit oath now complete.

It was quite hard to photograph metallics under a light source, got to work on that.

The bottom right one will be used for my vets or destroyers when I play HH.

Good luck to those pushing for completion. Have to rest my eyes now

SEXY!

I am working on getting to the point I can begin my vow.  I got the unexpected news a couple weeks ago that I would be moving, so that kind of dented some plans.  I know where the stuff is though.  I expect to work on it this week.

Paul

Cod, that's just unfair and cheating...you are making me feel so inadequate. Just wasn't enough doing one amazing set of rhino hatches, how the hell do you turn them out in numbers and make them look so cohesive?

You ust be blessed by the machine gods avatar! :)

I also realised that I had originally stated that the closing date would be1 March 2014 so that stays unchanged. I am happy to accept additions until another 24 hours midnight of Sunday 2nd of March. Also we've passed the magic 50% mark with NCSUWolf's completion. Hoping to see if we can get a 100% completion rate here! :)

Great stuff guys!!! For the Lion and Caliban!

It's too bad I saw this too late or I might've entered haha, but I'm such a slow painter.

I don't know if I can just drop these here but these were the Heresy Dark Angels I was doing:

Thanks for the compliments brothers, plus SG for running the Currus Belli series.

Yesterday was a day off so I got stuck in painting. I do try to participate and that's also the only way to improve smile.png

There is an old but simple technique used for the doors, maybe soon I will post it in step form.

Ha, I wish I was blessed by the machine god and his avatar! He could help me out with supplying some new machines.

These 'Ironwing' themed doors will form the basis for an army selection project I hope to show next month, HH related.

Anyway there is a bit more time now for completions, do the Lion proud!
