QQ re: Word Bearers Chapter - Osseous Throne

Alright, I've done some research and turned up pleasantly little regarding the Pre-Heresy "Chapter of the Osseous Throne".

 

Literally, all I've managed to find is a page on Lexicanum that just reads: "The Osseous Throne was a Chapter of the Word Bearers Space Marine Legion during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy. It specialized in infantry wave attacks."

 

And funnily enough that is exactly how I've been playing my Doomseekers, who worship He Who Sits Upon the Skull Throne. Thirty-odd power armoured axe-wielding nutters just charging across open ground, cultists blobs in front, terminator blob behind.

 

Is anyone using this Chapter or building them? Because if not, I'm nicking it. I've got a big re-write of my Doomseekers' Index Traitoris on my hands and I want to use the Chapter of the Osseous Throne as their original name. Because, you know.

 

Osseous Throne, Skull Throne... DON'T TELL ME YOU DIDN'T MAKE THE CONNECTION.

Being Khorne worshippers I think this will fit VERY nicely into my rewrite.

Well, I've nicked the color scheme of this chapter from the book (the lightish grey, dark red and bronze) for my own wordbearers, but I'm not using the iconography or name so feel free :) Look forward to seeing them.

Actually brothers, while I've got this thread open, what do we think of this for an opening blurb on my new Index Traitoris?:

"The final exchange" is well-written. I can't help but wonder if the last enemy the Osseous Throne Chapter will face, will be Word Bearers under Erebus' personal command?

I'd be careful doing stuff like this personally, just because it is GW's and not something you made. I would be that buddy that always brought up the fact (that potentially) GW killed off your entire chapter or did something else equally absurd to something you've devoted time and resources to.

 

Point and example: I'm now a subpar flyer? golly gee?
