dothac83
I was inspired by this image to come up with a Wolf Lord: http://www.blogcdn.com/wow.joystiq.com/media/2009/03/danielw_thassarian.jpg (I know it's Thassarian from WoW) Wolf Lord Selvig Bladestorm Wargear: Runic Armor, 2 Frost Blades, Frag Grenades, Krak Grenades, Belt of Russ, Wolftooth Necklace, Melta Bombs, Saga of the Bear Points Cost: 245 I double-checked the rulebook on assaults and he would get the +1 attack wielding 2 blades. So he'd get 5 attacks total with S5 AP3 Blades, Plus Eternal Warrior from SotB, and the 4++ from the BoR. I'm just curious though if instead of Saga of the Bear if I should replace it with Saga of the Warrior Born. Any thoughts? Valerian
Well, a few points - he isn't terribad, and concept/theme (rule of cool) is probably what is going to carry the most weight, but... You don't need two Frost Blades to get the extra attack, a pistol or regular CCW is all that is required, so you're spending an extra 25 points for absolutely no reason. Frost Blades themselves are already a weak/poor choice; they're 25 points to get a S5 AP3 weapon, when you could spend the same points to get a Power Fist, or less points to get a Power Axe, etc., etc. You definitely don't want to waste 50 points on two of them (25 for one is bad enough as it is). Warriorborn is fun for chewing through Troops, but with an AP3 weapon, this fellows Achilles Heel will be facing off other characters in Challenges, so I'd stick with the SotB. He'll be lucky to live if locked in with a character with 2+ Armour (TDA, Runic, Articifer, etc.) and an AP2 weapon. Vash113
Honestly there's nothing stopping you from modeling two swords but rules-wise only purchasing one and giving him a bolt pistol or plasma pistol in a holster on his hip. WYSIWYG wise he has the frost blade, has +1 attack, he has everything he would have with two swords except the cost, the second is just for looks. I occasionally modeled Blood Claws in my units with two chainswords or two bolt pistols, just to make some of them look a little difference. Never had anyone have a problem with it.
