Knights of the Great Crusade / Horus Heresy

You know you want one. You know you're, at least, thinking about it, even if you're holding out to see what FW or the Knight Codex says. So, my question to y'all is: How are you going to integrate the Knights into your army?

Myself, I'll be making a Homebrew House that was exterminated during the Scouring. Old Night was hellish for everyone to stay in contact (or even stay alive), so I'm playing with the idea that the recruiting world that my Iron Warriors liberated from a Kine Horde that was close to enslaving the planet was also the home of a Household that had been cut off for centuries, and had developed their own customs and culture in line with their planet, eventually becoming a House Minoris on their own. With my Dragoons preserving the planet at the 11th hour, oaths of honour and brotherhood, bonded through blood spilled, were shared. With the planet becoming a Ward-World and recruitment site of the Dragoons, the knights become a part of the XIV Dragoons in all but name.

As for colors, I'm running the idea of a halved scheme for my House of Alloni, forest green and cream, trimmed in dark iron. Their heraldic symbol will be a human face with a grated mouth, haloed by a cog, lightning striking from the face.

So, what's running through your minds? Fluff ideas, conversion thoughts, prayers to FW for conversion kits (Knight Class Volkites....please?). Let's get some thoughts going focused in 30k.

So I'm thinking imperial knight with normal helm chaos renegade etch brass, serpent lodge glyphs and the eye of Horus on the chest.

Trying to find a colour scheme for the treacherous knights in mechanicum.

This will give me motivation to have 3 with some admech and to paint up my warhound.

I decided not to overtly convert but make it look simply as a knight fighting under the banner of the warmaster

Knight class volkites?

Here take all my money forgeworld.

I might say that my XVth Cataphracts picked some up from Caliban that had been dormant and lost under the encroaching forest that took over dead settlements where they had been located. That, or maybe they had some when they traveled with the Emps because they were only 1st legion at the time. Or maybe they picked up a loyal house that was was under siege from some no good iron warriors...or maybe...

Thinking on eventually adding one to the Terran Imperial Army regiment fighting alongside the exiled Death Guard of the 8th Battalion. It was given to the High King of Boruzia by the Emperor as a reward for the Boruzian Grenadiers' support during Unification and will bear the name of König Wilhelm. Still working on the details.

Colours? Something dark with bronze that goes well with ranks of infantry in splittertarn greatcoats.

One of my friends has already told me I'm getting one for my birthday in a couple months, so it appears to be a 'definitely happening' thing for me.  I will use it in lieu of the Macharius Vanquisher that I had planned for my Lord of War at 2k points.  I have thought about trying to fit it into my list at 1500, but I do not think there is a way to do it that does not either hurt my army's character, well-rounded-ness, or both.

As I play Luna Wolves, I will most likely do mine up as a Mechanicum-affiliated Knight, probably in Legio Mortis colors.  I'm sure they had a few of them running around somewhere so that the Warhounds had something to pick on.

My Knight(s) wil hail from a world that is one of the Five Hundred Worlds of Ultramar, and accompagny an Expeditionary Fleet of the Ultramarines. I'm not yet sure if it will be a Great Crusade or actual Heresy (just after Calth) force, but either way, it will have at least one Knight.

I'd been thinking of a background for them for a couple of days, but it actually just occured to me as I was reading this thread. I blame you, Heathens. I think your imagination is contagious. And I might have to steal your idea for them getting destroyed during the Scouring. Makes sense for Knights fighting alongside the Ultramarines.

I'm still undecided on the colour scheme, though I quite like the House Terryn scheme. But if I adapted that, it would be very, very close to my Ultramarines. However, it might work if they are actually from Ultramar.

Well, I plan to have two Knights at Ubuntu, of House Basquez, Stefan and Sofia, with a nice rich Red and Blue scheme and a bright yellow Pauldron with a big black fist on it. I have a whole write up for them once i get them and put it up in my thread.

With the knight orders on Caliban, I find it very easy to believe the 1st Legion had a few knight houses aligned. Forge world has and will continue putting fluff in the books as to which titan legion served with which astartes legions, knight legions included.

I'm planning on having a home brew house harkening from an Arthurian esque culture. I'm debating giving each knight individual heraldry from the knights from Arthurian legend

Mine will be from a freeblade house in hiding with my Renegades just beyond the Halo Stars. Colours will be Black,Bone, Red. Symbol will be  a Scythe and symbols of Death. I like the chainsaw .

Does anyone have a paint formula to represent oil or hydralic fluid?

It'd be cool to make look like a giant, metal Scarecrow, tie a noose around his neck that in turn is a noose for a hanging body.

Although that I say it out loud it sounds goofy.

Not at all that gave me an idea, since my theme is anti-primarchs -Emperor I should have one hanging Thanks that gves me something to think about.thumbsup.gif
