  1. THE RETURN OF THE GREEN KNIGHT The strike cruiser Verdant Oath did not sound a welcoming chime. The Thunderhawk settled into its cradle amid drifting vapor and cooling metal. From its hold emerged a lone figure clad in black ceramite. Brother Martin bore the sigil of the Deathwatch upon his pauldron. The Inquisitorial mark still clung to his armor, dull and intrusive, like a scar that refused to fade. No honor guard awaited him. Marshal Calder stood at the foot of the embarkation ramp, hands clasped behind his back. To one side waited Brother-Artificer Verdug, his servo-arm locked in repose. A pace behind them stood Codicier Lucan, hood drawn low, presence folded inward like a sheathed blade. Calder inclined his head. ‘Your vigil is ended.’ Brother Martin knelt. ‘It ended early, My Lord,’ Martin said. Not defensively. Precisely. ‘As intended,’ Calder replied The black of his armor was not revered aboard the Verdant Oath. It was residue. A foreign layer to be removed. They led him into the Armorum Sanctum. Cog-etched arches rose overhead. Incense hung heavy in the air, sharp with solvents and sanctified oils. The rites of return began. The black paint was burned away. Chemical agents hissed as Deathwatch livery dissolved down to bare adamantium. Serfs worked in silence. No hymns were sung. No litanies spoken. Only the steady rhythm of cleansing. As the green was reapplied, Codicier Lucan circled Martin slowly. His eyes never lingered on the armor. They searched deeper. ‘You refused three direct taskings,’ Lucan said, eyes unfocused. ‘Not requests. Orders.’ ‘I did,’ Martin replied. ‘Specify,’ Calder said. ‘The Deathwatch required maintenance of xenos-derived weapon systems,’ Martin said. ‘Calibration. Sanctification. Instruction.’ Verdug’s optics brightened faintly. ‘I refused,’ Martin continued. ‘Each time, I cited Martian doctrine and Imperial law. Each time, I offered sanctioned alternatives.’ ‘And?’ Calder asked. ‘They recorded my refusals,’ Martin said. ‘They judged me obstructive. Ideologically inflexible. A liability to operational cohesion.’ Calder’s mouth twitched, almost a smile. 'They I was released to my parent chapter under writ,’ Martin finished. Calder inclined his head once. ‘Exactly as hoped.’ Lucan stopped pacing. ‘There has been interference,’ Lucan said at last. Calder did not turn. ‘Explain.’ ‘The Ordo Xenos attempted a surgical purge,’ Lucan replied. ‘Memory excision. Observation anchors. They were thorough.’ Verdug’s optics flared softly. ‘And successful?’ Lucan paused. ‘Incomplete.’ At a gesture from Verdug, servitors drew back a shrouded reliquary. Runes flared as seals disengaged, one by one. Beneath lay an ancient device of brass and blackened steel, its surface etched with sigils older than the Chapter. ‘Sanctioned by Holy Terra,’ Verdug intoned. ‘Recovered during the Third Scouring of Helican Reach.’ Lucan’s voice lowered. ‘Rumors claim the Ordos Hereticus uses such devices to unmask witches. To reconstruct lies stripped from the mind.’ Calder turned at last. ‘Then use it.’ Brother Martin was seated before the device. Cables interfaced with his cranial ports. The machine stirred, not with noise, but with intent. Lucan reached into the warp. The device responded. Fragments surfaced—gaps where memory had been cut away, cauterized with cold precision. The machine probed those absences, not restoring what was taken, but mapping what should have been there. Runes ignited across the chamber walls. Star charts unfolded, incomplete at first—then sharpening. Worlds returned from omission – bled back into focus. Vaults hidden by silence. Listening posts. Quarantine reliquaries hidden beneath layers of denial. Lucan exhaled slowly. ‘Nineteen,’ he said. ‘Recovered from absence,’ Verdug confirmed. ‘The rest are too degraded.’ Calder stepped forward, studying the burning points of light. ‘Nineteen worlds touched by xenos treachery,’ he said, ‘Nineteen worlds, hidden not by ignorance, but by intent.’ ‘Some confirmed,’ Martin said, his voice steady despite the lingering ache behind his eyes. ‘Some merely watched.’ Lucan’s gaze hardened. ‘Watched is enough.’ ‘Then no longer,’ Calder said. He turned to Verdug. ‘Inform the Blade.’ The words carried weight. The War Council would convene. Routes would be charted. Oaths renewed. Weapons sanctified. Calder faced Martin once more. ‘Your vigil ended early because it needed to,’ he said. ‘You were sent back because you exposed their weakness. They lack faith in humanity.' Martin bowed his head. ‘You return to us without stain,’ the Marshal said. ‘Go and rejoin your brothers.' Outside the Armorum Sanctum, klaxons began to sound—not alarms, but summons. The Verdant Oath altered course. A Crusade had been declared. It was a good day for the Green Templars. And the alien would not endure it.

  3. Stomp Stomp... Styrix incoming... This big guy was in my plans for a while, and some months passed since I listed its aquisition into the TITH thread (Today´s in the Hobby - See Amicus Aede sub-Forum). It was high time to strat working on this machine. I initially thought about enlisting it as a Plodding along, but I rather keep this pledge for some kitbashed vehicles waiting to be finished and painted for years (a quarter or 2 before I suscribed to this forum). And having to wait until the summer event is too much time. So here it comes as a multipart/Progress report style Blog entry. Today´s installment will be the chassis. Starting by the core stuff that support the whole robot yet the part which is probably going to be the easiest to paint. Afterall it is mainly dry brushing. I made so far 2 sub-assemblies: the legs and the torso. It is no rocket science as it is probably the most obvious construct if you do not stick too much to the assembly manual. They have a fiercy allure once set together, nope? I just hope I will not screw it all later with the armour plates... I will have to train into panel lining... Some details, starting with the power unit for the big volkite gun. This resin part was smaller than the place it is supposed to be clipped on, which led to some cutting job in order to get it in place. For the leg, I hesitate into painting the piston hydraulic part in a brighter colour, like a red for example, or keeping it just brushed. But a small test with red, it looked like more to a "pimp-my-ride" styled robot rather than to a venerable and respected Freeblade. I´ll let the bright coloured pistons to mekboyz. See you for next episode.
  4. Hi Folks, The W.E. (stands for Week-End, not World Eaters), has been calm enough to complete the lower part (a.k.a. legs) of the Styrix. After some tape masking and one or two small corretions, the armoured legs of the Styrix were maked-up in the same combination of Eshin Grey and Wraithbone as the paultrons. Plus some added red stripes, as on the illustration taken as a guiding model. Main difference is that panel colours are inverted in order to fit to the Heraldry guide for Questoris Mechanicum: Black (grey in my case) on the inside and White (bone in my case) on the outside. For the rest, it is mostly free style. One of the advantages of going Freeblade... Here is the resulting true crime, before panel glueing: The base is made to be a mid rocky reg, using the usual bark (maritime pine from my last holidays) suspect for modelling rock platforms. The legs have been painted following the Citadel colour tutorial on Youtube. at least for jacks and hydraulics. Next step will be final assembly and Decals. See you once done.

  6. ++ COMPLETED ++ Hello, hello! A while ago a friend of mine bought me Imperial Knights: Renegade on the premise I kept one (which I already did and painted) and then did him a Chaos Knight in return. Originally, it was just going to be a funky paint job, but the scope has now increased. He collects Iron Warriors, so with it mostly being a silver paint job with hazard stripes, I felt it needed something more to give it that chaos bang. Firstly, that pesky detail had to go. It was too clean and imperial. Now at the stage where some greenstuff is being blobbed on and shaped. When its dry, it will be sanded down so its thin and then a second layer applied so I can detail it and add things like the rings between the spikes.

  17. You asked for it! Knight Conquistador The moment Cadia fell, Iron Warriors Warsmith Kalash rushed to the forge world of Promethean, seeking to avenge the humiliation he suffered in a failed attempt to seize Promethean's Land Raider manufactories during the 10th Black Crusade. The forge world of Poseidon sent House Triton's Knights to aid in Promethean's defense, as did Black Templars Marshal Teller. Learning from his earlier defeat, Kalash used drop pods to deploy Daemon Engines into the loyalists' rear, inflicting heavy casualties; Black Templars strike cruisers quickly destroyed Kalash's battle barge to deny the Iron Warriors reinforcements, but not before the Warsmith seized and then fortified the forge world's main spaceport. Promethean's Magi, House Triton's Sacristans, and Black Templars Techmarines salvaged the wrecks of Knights Gallant- which suffered for their lack of ranged weapons- and Land Raiders to create a transport capable of transporting the Templars over Iron Warriors defenses, allowing Marshal Teller to fight and kill Warsmith Kalash in the spaceport control tower. The Templars named the resulting vehicle the "Knight Conquistador," after pre-Imperial warriors who ventured into the unknown, not only to conquer, but to spread their faith; the Sacristans nicknamed it the "Megapode." It mounts a Land Raider chassis atop a Knight's legs, replaces the las-power generators with a Throne Mechanicum, and relocates the sponson-mounted weapons to the arms. A skull helm- its orbits framing twin-heavy bolter muzzles, its mouth an omniscope- denies the enemy cover and concealment. Two front winches and two side winches allow passengers to disembark via rappelling. Enlarged feet grant all-terrain capability at the expense of speed, compared to other Knight patterns. As it is technically not a Land Raider, the Knight Conquistador's use soon spread to the Adeptus Mechanicus' Skitarii legions. 23 power, 435 pts M *, WS *, BS *, S 8, T 8, W 28, A 4, Ld 9, Sv 2+ <> DamageSome of this model's characteristics change as it suffers damage, as shown below: Remaining W 15-28, M 10", WS 3+, BS 3+ Remaining W 8-14, M 7", WS 4+, BS 4+ Remaining W 1-7, M 5", WS 5+, BS 5+ A Knight Conquistador is a single model equipped with a godhammer chainsword (reaper chainsword with integral twin-lascannon), a godhammer gauntlet (thunderstrike gauntlet with integral twin-lascannon), a twin-heavy bolter, and titanic feet. <> Wargear options This model may replace its godhammer chainsword with a hurricane chainsword (reaper chainsword with integral hurricane bolter) or a flamestorm chainsword (reaper chainsword with integral flamestorm cannon). 18. Hey ladies and gents, just wanted to get an opinion on what everyone thinks are the best of the cerastus knight variants, Castigator, Lancer, or Acheron. Aesthetics-wise I really dig the Acheron, but I don't know how useful it actually is. The Lancer looks pretty cool too, though the same concern applies. I'd love to hear your guys' opinions though!
  19. I just love Knights of the AdMech! I just love the idea of households and medieval way of life! I figured there MUST be some human planet that follows the Japanese code of Bushido, right? So why not have Samurai Knights!? SInce most Feudal Worlds are contracted under Forge Worlds, it has to be possible! Thoughts?
